After a false start (note to self, wear your glasses)

After reading an article called "Smokers (and E-Smokers) of the World, Unite" I decided to become a member and here I am.

Also today I bought my first "real" e-cig, after wasting a fortune on cheap CE4 type e-cigs and never really knowing whether they were going to work from one puff to the next. I love my new one.

welcome
what did you get?
an mvp and a miniaerotank
or a semovar and kayfun?

It's a Kangertech EMUS. I know it has a relatively short battery life and smallish tank but it has really good reviews for quality and reliability. I just smoked it for the first time an hour ago and it was bliss. I got two in the set so I'll always have one ready. I chose that one because of the 1.8 ohms and the fact that I could replace the coil. And it's really pretty. I've survived for four months on standard CE4 e-cigs and I was getting fed up with my desk drawer filling up with the parts of the ones I gave up on in disappointment. I literally have about 10 batteries (bottom bits as I call them). But what put me off getting a proper one was I found it all really confusing. I've learned a lot in the last few hours, researching it all. But I still have my L plates on. But I'm so pleased with it. Every puff is consistently throat hittingly satisfying (using 24mg spearmint juice.

I'm going to save a lot of money with this (it wasn't expensive) as I won't have to buy a whole new one about once a week, just change the coil. If I look after it carefully and change the coils etc. how long do you think it would last ? Sorry if that's a clueless noob question.

Thank you ! I'm looking forward to finding out more, not just about the e-cigs. It has been a favourite rant of mine for a long time about how despicably smokers are treated and I can't believe how governments and respected organisations are getting away with trying to place the same stigma on vaping. Well,they have to have someone to demonise I suppose.

I did actually buy one about a year ago. Don't laugh, it was one of those that look exactly like a cigarette. I thought it had potential and tried to find out about better ones and then I gave up looking as my head was about to implode. I think the CE4 ones are good in a way though as when they do work they are good enough to encourage people.

well you'll save yourself a bunch o pounds by checking here first before you buy your next setup.

i had accumulated about 6 ego type batteries when I first started last year; thought I'd be good for a year; they started giving problems after about 3 to 4 months; didn't help that the charger I had home went faulty; I had another at work; if i'd had them together I might have picked up on the fault sooner and maybe I'd have stuck with eGo's longer;

but in the end it gave me the excuse to get myself a zmax and a vamo for christmas.

That's just as I feared. It wasn't about the money, although I do notice I now have enough money for luxuries like food. I just wanted to stop smoking without any unpleasant withdrawal or becoming really bad tempered. Moving over to e-cigs was virtually painless. Whoever invented them should get some sort of huge pat on the back.
