Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and decided today I should do my first post.

I started vaping 2 months ago and am still off analogs. My first pv was a vapor4life pcc set up. It was great but.... didn't completely satisfy me. So I upgraded to an eGo. I bought mine from liberty flights for a great price.

I have been using my eGo for about a month and recently got "the itch" once again to look for something better. It wasn't because I wasn't satisfied with my pv it was because at this point I was addicted to the hunt for the next best thing. And I'm sure a lot of people here can identify with that feeling.

I came across the wetbox by missy and was immediately intrigued. The idea of not having to drip, top of carts, or cartos was quite an appetizing idea!!! So I decided to wait until I saw a 5v version come out. While waiting I did a lot of research and came across ce2 cartomizers and was once again interested. Since they were quite a bit less expensive than a whole new pv I decided to give them a shot. At first, they sucked... and I went back to dripping. But then I discovered I could pop out that stupid plug with the two little holes and put a plug from a cheap chinese carto in its place and let me tell you, It made a huge difference. Now After I vape for 5 min I set my pv on its side or in my pocket and a little bit of juice is able to leak past the plug and onto the ceramic cup (it doesn't leak out of the cart though). Its like dripping every time. Not to mention they are much easier to fill now. Two of the xls last me all day and I vape like a frickin chimney. I also considered HV pvs and tried a couple 5v and 6v mods but noticed they eat up my juice like no other! Its too expensive to go through 6ml or more a day in juice! lol

Now I am completely satisfied with the flavor, vapor, ease of use, and longevity of my pv. I can take two batteries and 2 xl ce2 cartomizers with me and be confident I will be all set for the whole day (and half way through the next).

Long story short, I like the idea of a wetbox, but my ego is all I need. Until someone tells me there is a better set up at 3.7-under 5v or comes out with some kind of a juice tank that functions better than my ce2 cartos and doesn't leak I will not be changing my pv set up.

If anybody has any ideas on a better set up for me or has any comments or questions I am glad to hear from anyone. Like I said, I am a n00b and I DON'T by any means know it all. I would love to hear from some experienced vapers on here about my opinions. Thanks all,
Ryan

Welcome to a fellow Upstate NYer Ryan. Yes the eGo is a great PV. I am sort of a gadget head so I have tried the Ce2's along with other cartos and many atty's. I am totally hooked on Cisco LR 306's w/a DT. An eGo batt will run them but they will shorten the life of the batt and an eGo puts out around 3.4V under load. That is what drove me to look for a good 3.7V MOD. I can tell the difference when the 306's are on an eGo versus the ProVape. I am also anxiously awaiting my ProVari. I vape around 10mls a day and it costs pennies since I have been bitten by the DIY bug. So 1 suggetion is try DIY. If you can make a mixed drink you can make your own juice. It really is rewarding and super cheap after the initial investment for nic pg/vg and flavors. Happy holidays

I can't use the old style cartos as I burn them up in no time. I have fifteen of them that I didn't get much use from at all. I had researched the ce2s quite a bit and I knew before I ordered that I was going to pop the two plugs and leave them out. I ordered the 2.8-3.0 ohm and they are a perfect fit for me as I like relatively cooler vapor with lots of flavor. Also, +1 on the Ego. I still enjoy my attys and carts too-it's just that the ten or so drops I load my carts with doesn't last me very long. lol

Finding the right hardware & juices early on is import to keep people vaping and away from the analogs. It sounds as though you found the right combination to get you started. Congratulations & Welcome to ECF. All of my PVs now are "bottom feed" mods - 4 REOs & 2 Phidias mods, and I now have about 4 different juices, all of which get me through the day without any cravings.

Welcome to ECF! I personally prefer the eGo over many others I've tried mostly because of it's low maintenance, built like a tank usability. It's also nice that the accessories for it are easy to find (510) and cheap. Many people don't care about how much work or cost is involved with their vaping, so take my opinion with a grain of salt as everyone's preferences are different.

I've got to agree with BradSmith above. I used my eGo's for a few months and found it was great, until I tried my first 3.7v mod with LR atty's. Now the eGo seems weak in comparison. I'll take a cheap boxmod over an eGo any time. One of these days I'll build my own varivolt mod. I've tried 6v and found it too touchy, but vv should take care of that.

I'll also go with BradSmith & Kent, use the LR's only with mods.

Like many others, I keep looking at the latest developments coming through this forum and think "yeah, that's where I'm going" and then someone comes up with something that is a little better than the last.

Drives me insane, because I haven't gone ahead with any advanced purchases, but the developments keep me fascinated!!!

In saying that, I'm definitely of the opinion that whatever I choose, for my next step, will be as far from looking like an analogue as I can possibly get!! I'm leaning to 'box mod' type designs.

EDIT: Have used eGo/Riva units to this time.

Thank you for your quick reply! I fell asleep shortly after posting this... I know there are spots on this forum for great instructions on DIY but I can't seem to find them. Any suggestions?

Where did you find 2.8-2.0ohm ce2s? I would like some for my passthru to see if it makes a differance

I will take a true 3.7 volt box mod anyday. Plus if you want you can actually use LR atties or Carto's without messing up the MOSFET switch. but hey, when something is working for you just be happy. Next month you will probably be on to something else.

You are probably right lol. I really would like a Variable Voltage (and it doesn't need to go over 5v) with a juice tank. But until I see one I can afford I am stickin with this. Thanks for replying!
