Hey guys. So I ordered an istick with an iClear 30 (clear) clearomizer. So far so good, was a bit tricky at first for a newbie like me but it seems alright. Although I have a few questions. Along with that I bought two liquids - one with 1.2 mg of nicotine, the other with 1.8. I'm using the 1.2 atm and the throat hit seem so a bit too rough.

Oh, nevermind, I just realized it was 2.4mg :D

Nonetheless, are there any tips on what liquids to get and where? I'm also thinking of buying another clearomizer so that I can carry myself different flavours. And for last, is there some kind of suitable case to carry this, because for me it seems a bit too wide and tall to carry around in my jacket pocket(where I like to carry my ecig) and I'd just feel safer knowing that I'm carrying it in a case.

P.S. - Do I have to clean the clearomizer? How often do I need to do it? If I were to put a different liquid into my clearomizer using the same coil head, do I need to clean the coil head too?

Whoa... 2.4% 24mg in a mini Nautilus is crazy stuff. What power are you running it at?

I carry mine in my jacket, no trouble at all, but I know what you mean. Might be worth looking around a pound store or homebargains for a suitable sized camera/nintendo?/Mp3 carry case.

Now, liquids.

I would suggest having a look around on LT ecigs (cheap and basic, but mostly nice) Vampire Vape (they do a 4 x 10ml bottle special) Chef's Vapour (for higher quality).

Needless to say, AVOID the big brands. VIP, Vapouriz and Apollo etc. Especially avoid UKecigstore.

How did you end up with an iClear30? It's old tech and not generally liked. However, there is some good news for you, as you can take it apart, wash the wick and dry it very easily compared to some.

I bought it according to the recommendations I received in my initial post, saying, that it's a good starters thing. You suggest I get a mini Nautilus?

Welcome to the forum! First, yes, you do have to clean the tank every so often. Everything tastes better when served from clean utensils :). In re juices, I stumbled upon JuiceDB, a juice review site that relies exclusively on member input. The site provided a pretty good launch pad; at the least, I was able to work out who made juices in a flavor profile and PG/VG ratio that I like. As well, the site runs the gamut both in terms of price point and range. They don't sell anything; it's solely reviews. (Not meaning to sound like a walking advert ... Just found it useful!). Happy tasting!

Hmm.

To be honest (please don't take this the wrong way) I am worried you are vaping 24mg on such a high power device... or was that just one of your bottles?

The iClear30 might be better on a powerful battery, as the main problem with them was over-wicking (getting soggy...!).

See how you get on. If you do a few days to a week without issues, then we know it works OK.

The mini Nautilus is great, but I run them at high power with low nicotine liquid, never more than 12mg.

Were you a big smoker in the first place? I'm keen to help out with this.... I really am. I feel partly responsible if I linked you to Myepack etc.

Well, I smoked 15-20 a day, mostly 15. To be honest, I didn't have a clear idea of how it will feel with the nicotine, so I thought at the moment to go for a higher nicotine to see how it feels. I'm doing 18 at this very moment, mixed the watermelon in with the tiny bit of the 24mg fruit left. And speaking of power, I set the VW to minimum.

You need whatever nicotine strength that gets you off cigarettes. It's different for everyone. You can easily decrease the nicotine content (with distilled water or VG or PG) but hard to increase.

I needed 24 mg to get off cigarettes completely, but it's very different for everyone. You'll know if it's too strong.

Yes, many of us needed 24mg to get off the smokes, but did we have 20w iSticks and dual coil/BVC tanks?

I didn't and you are a year ahead of me Caridwen. :)

You are probably OK then.

I'll go and try my iStick on minimum VW.

 Longer than that. I had a big old 5V box mod that was held together with rubber bands and used cartridges/attys.

Vaping has come a long way- for the better.

Still, some people may need a little extra to get them over the hump and quickly reduce nicotine intake once they do. It's difficult to determine what someone's addiction level is. You can try to gadge by their equipment, how long they smoked, etc. but there is no great rule of thumb. Addiction is very individual.

Vampire Vape UK | E Liquid Multibuy Offer | 4x 10ml Vampire Vape E-Liquid (0mg - 24mg)

I'm thinking of buying all of this during the week. And after the coil getting [gunked] am I supposed to replace the whole thing or the wick itself?

That'll be quite the haul! What fun! So, the coils last differently depending on what you vape and at what power (at least, those are the two variables that most impact longevity for me). I vape higher VG liquids at moderate power - say, 10-14 watts - so coils gunk up a bit more quickly. Assuming I'm still getting good flavor, I clean the coil in rotation, by removing from tank and soaking in vodka. Then rinse, air dry, and good to go. Something to make you laugh: first time I cleaned a tank, I used Ultra Dawn ... and I DIDN'T remove the coil. Blech! Reminded me of when I was 4 and ate soap. Ah well; lesson learned

That looks great! Yes, you replace the whole coil, not just the wick.

I have 4 bottles lined up at Vampire. Just keep avoiding the "buy" button as I think I'll go with the Pinkman not the Heisenberg. :)
