Yes. Over the last 3 months, I have literally spent over $700 on e-cig crap. Juices, cartos, tanks, batteries, VV box, connectors, EVERYTHING has been tried.

Started with a V2 starter kit, then a Halo starter kit (I read they were better in general, so I thought 'hey, what the heck'). I then moved on to a couple of Ego batteries, only to find they are not even putting out as much voltage as the 808 cig style batteries, but the Egos of course last a LOT longer. I couldn't get the hit I wanted on the egos, and the V2/halo stuff hit OK, but then quickly lost steam (no pun intended) after a few hits. The cartos also needed topping off fairly often.

I then went on a quest to find the best combination of TH, lasting power (hit after hit as well as battery longevity). I tried dual coil tanks on an ego (not powerful enough for even the 1.5ohms, but then it's risky running down there on an ego anyway, plus it sucks your battery very quickly). While I like the tank idea, I never found a carto that I LOVE in it (boge 2.0 is very close).

The smoktech dual coils are decent, but you have to have a good amount of voltage going to them to get much. Even then, the carto is saturated at the bottom, but the upper coil, IMO, doesn't get the saturation it needs. You have to 'dry suck' it pretty hard a couple of times, THEN you get that awesome hit or two...or three. Then it's back to OK. Dry suck some more. I guess that's whats getting the upper coil a little more wet..those post dry suck moments (I know, it's starting to sound silly:p).

I tried boge 2.0 cartos on the ego, and while it's a good hit, the carto is relatively tiny. I do however have some resurrectors on the way, so that may help with the situation. But, continuing....

I've tried boge 2.0 in a tank, and that's pretty dang good, but during the day I really don't want to be carrying around a tank.

So, what's portable, pocket friendly, maintains the hits with good battery life, and doesn't look TOO silly carrying around?

Answer......the EMDCC (Ego mega dual coil cartomizer)!! Even on an ego, it's very solid. The only downside is that it still drains the ego pretty quickly (it's 1.5 ohms).
This thing holds almost 5ml of juice, and I thought, well I'm still gonna have to top it off. Well, the carto lasts all day, and most of the night, and topping it off is so easy because the opening from the mouthpiece is so big. You practically pour the juice in when you want to top it off.

I think that this is working better for me than any dual coil tank carto i've tried. There's so much filler, that the top coil stays as wet as the bottom coil for a LONG time. This equal saturation is the key to very thick vapor. Both coils are enjoying the liquid equally. It hits like a freight train, and doesn't quit. Its so powerful, that you only need three or so hits in succession, and then you start to get dizzy.

Onto the battery issue...like I said, the ego does a very good job with these (that's what this carto was designed for) but unless your using a 1000mah ego, it'll run out in 3 to 4 hours. A 1000mah will last about 6 to 8 hours with this carto. OK, great, but a 1000mah ego with an EMDCC looks like a weapon, and barely fits in a pocket. I still use this combination though, because it's the best thing so far. I just wish the ego had a smidgen more voltage to pump through this carto.....

So, this is my everyday vape setup....an EMDCC on a 1000mah ego battery.

I bought a VV box from smoktek (the varicool). I really don't want to carry this garage door opener looking thing around, but I can now dial in 3.7 even 4 or 4.2 volts, and the EMDCC is absolutely incredible up there.

Now I'm thinking I could have just bought a 3.7 mod (which you can get really small ones) this whole time. A 3.7 mod, four 14500 batteries, a charger, and a .... load of EMDCC's. THATS ALL I NEEDED THIS WHOLE TIME!! And that right there would have cost about $60 or so. I vape Halo tribeca almost exclusively, so that would be the only other factor, but I figured the eliquid I like the best pretty early on.

I have so much crap that has piled up, I feel a little overwhelmed and guilty for spending so much money. But at the same time, I truly believe I have found my "holy grail". I still need to settle on what I can carry around with me to power the emdcc, but the the does good enough for now. The VV box is great for home use, and for finding what kind of voltages work with certain juice/carto combinations.

I've been smoke free this entire time. I used to smoke almost a pack a day for 20 years. I guess that right there is worth $700, not smoking real cigs anymore.

I officially name this thread the most run-on and confusing ever. Sorry:blush:

Well after spending hundreds of dollars I find that the $2.20 box mod that I made myself and a $1.35 carto is as good a vape as anything else.

I spent more than $700 in my first couple months, and had a similar epiphany after buying too much stuff - "If I'd known, this would have been a lot/i] cheaper!!" - but, I resist beating myself up over it. Like you said, it's still worth it 'cos I'm not smoking any more.

That's the best part of the whole experience..not smoking :) (Wow, it seems wierd saying that after 20 years of doing it).

What were you using for juice in the halo e cig? I have a Smokestik and.theyre pretty comparable save for the thread. Similar mAH and theyre both 5v. I use both the 4081cart and 808's in my smokestick and have found the experience pretty decent. Good nico hit great vapor production. Im not saying its the be all end all but it was enough to make me not smoke an analog again. The halo juices seem to love the 5v and so does the stuff from Dekang.

I will say it was a little adjustment getting the best pulls and the most nicotine/vapor. I almost always pull until the automatic shutoff.

Good luck and hope you find something that works for you

Hope you find something that works for you, bro.

I just recently purchased this unit, ( SmokTek "SmokBox" - Custom 3.7 volt Box Mod - A Personal Vaporizer with Power! ) for $19.99 and although it is only 3.7v it vapes much better than i had expected. It is concealed in my hand and the only part you can see in the drip tip. I have fallen back in love with dripping again. The only downside I have seen so far is the 14500 batteries only last on average of about 6 hours each. I am a pretty heavy vaper though. I am in the middle of my research to step up to a bottom feeding unit now that has more voltage. I think I have decided to go with a VmodXL to vape 3.7 and 6v. I'm good for now though. Glad you found your holy grail though.

I vape TriBeCa 18mg a lot. That's what I tried with the halo stuff. Of course it's even better in the emdcc!

Yeah, I thought about that one, but I got the varicool instead. I'm thinking about getting the 3.7 version though, because the ego ain't cutting it for on the go.
