i think there is enough difference
will they both work? sure. but the quality of a DID cant be matched by an AGA.
the post and hole are where they should be, you dont need washers or tricks to coil them, if somehow you do trash something parts are available, and the machining is top notch.
if you have already been playing with clones just take the plunge and get the real deal if you like geni's

personally i feel the cheap ones are for seeing if you like it, i see no reason to move if your happy with them, but i figured its an investment so might as well invest in a nice one.

I was hoping you would say the opposite! BTW... after letting my did clone sit and stare at me for a couple days.. I just picked it up.. did some pulses at low voltage and after the juice burned off, it didn't take long for all the coils to glow evenly. Go figure! I've PM'd a guy wth a DID in the classys.. good price.. I'm waiting on a reply. thanks for the reply.

If you can afford the DID i would buy it as opposed to the AGA model.
I own the limited AGA-W from Europe and the newest AGA model.

The AGA is harder to setup the DID is easy to set up as the wick hole is right up to the center post and machining along with plastic type gaskets that hold the center pin are much nicer than the flimsy silicone type of the AGA.

The AGA when setup with no hot spots vapes well
but
for the life of me i cannot figure out the foul taste i get and have tried everything to rid of it.
I vape only 2 DIY e-liquids and in the AGA there is big difference in taste with my RY4 compared to the DID.
I'm leaning toward the fact that the 0-rings in the AGA are doing it as both types of AGA's taste exactly the same yet i have properly cleaned them many times even boiled the o-rings, tried marinating the o-rings in my e-liquid for a week then reassembled and it was tasting normal for about 1/4 a tank then that foul taste came right back.

If not for that taste difference i would drill another hole closer to the center post and enjoy the AGA but for me that taste thats imparted to my e-liquid is not worth it so now they just sit in drawer.

well beyond fit and finish it comes down to you. (saw the pm i almost jumped on it lol)

if the clone works for you there is no other reason to want the real one beyond knowing the craftsmanship and pedigree behind it.
my very first was a did clone . post got loose and a screw stripped and in the trash it went, that will probably be the last clone i buy.

i have had many topshelf atty's ( i cant help playing) and i have never seen a defect in any of them and very little money was lost selling them in the classifieds when i moved on to the next ones. if you dont like it clean it back up and you will get your cnote back im sure.
and the ad your looking at is a killer deal - 2 clear tanks, extra screws and rings plus grommets, is a steal at that price.

Maybe the o-ring is rubber instead of vinyl? I remember back when I was making the homemade syringe tanks.. I got a hold of some that tasted so foul they were unusable. Obviously they were rubber and not vinyl. I tried boiling and soaking and nothing helped but throwing them in the trash.

You can't go wrong with a real DID. I have 2 of them; a standard, and a shorty. The machining is perfect. The hardware is top notch, and the top platform is well thought out. Replacement parts, should you ever need any, are readily available. I have several top shelf gennys, and I'd rank the DID right up there.

Thanks for the reply! I know you love your ZAPs and I love mine also. I chose the zap over the did because for the money, the zap came with all that preoxidized and rerolled mesh and the wire. When my did clone is setup right and working well, I absolutely love the vape.. so I want a real, nicely machined one. If I can ever get a reply and I'm first in line, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it. It does look to be maybe an older version from what I can tell by the pictures. I don't know if that makes any difference or not.

I got a Phoenix clone($6)& it has great flavor etc But it is cheaply made & the set screws should break/strip rel soon.. The aga-t on the other hand, is very well made & should hold up very well. I think the Chinese produced an 80$ rba for 24$ (I paid ten less) with the aga. When/if I upgrade it will be for Titanium not a more expensive version of the aga.My opinion. Nothing more, nothing less.

yay for MMV - gratz and have fun.

was just on the site today i see they added a shorty tank and centerpost. which is cool i think.

I like the shorty. It uses the same top cap and platform as the standard. I have the pyrex tanks for both my standard and the shorty.

The one I just bought out of the classys has 2 extra clear tanks, upgraded screws and center post. I hope that it screws onto one of my provaris and stops with the wick in a comfortable position. I got lucky with my zap and clone on two of the provaris but on the purple one, the button ends up on the side and it's not comfortable to hold and vape. I guess it's luck of the draw!

Sounds like you got a good deal, especially with the extra tanks. You're going to like it.

I can't believe the quality of this thing compared to the mini clone! And the wick hole on the standard is so much larger than my mini clone. I can't wait to start playing with it! He sent some mesh with it but I don't know what size it is yet. I'm wanting to try some 500 and try to minimize this runback issue I seem to be having with the clone. It does screw on with the air hole/wick placement in a convenient place on my purple provari so that's nice. Very happy with my decision (sorry thrasher but it was you who talked me into it in the first place :D)

Yeah, there's no comparison between the quality of the real DID and the mini clone. The only thing I don't like, and it's a small thing: You almost have to use the 'drill bit' method of making coils; because the size of the ground screw and large wick make it difficult to wrap a coil with the wick in place. If you're used to the 'drill bit' method, it's not a problem. But sometimes, I like to freehand my set ups.
