Hello guys, new here and have been lurking for a loooong time. Loads of threads have been very helpful and educational and have helped me progress from cig-a-likes down the road to VV and mech mods.
Here's my issue. I purchased an AGA T2 and wrapped it with .32 Kanthal 4/5 wraps on a SS mesh wick. Put it on my Evic and it registered at 1.5Ω. Fired it at lowest voltage to check for hotspots...nothing. moved up to 3.5V...nothing. Moved up to 4V held the fire button for 6 seconds and finally got some glowing. Worked out all the hotspots by poking and prodding with a blunt syringe tip until it was glowing evenly. I found it odd that it took so long for the Evic to fire it up at 8W but I filled it anyways and gave it a few test vapes and it produced little vapor. Very disappointed and confused to say the least as I wasn't getting any "atomizer short" messages and was firing it at upwards of 10W and very little vapor was produced.
Next day I decided to go and purchase a pure mech mod because of all the reading I had done here regarding gennies and how they perform best on an unregulated mech. So I picked up a Kamry K100 and a couple AW IMR18490 batteries and popped the AGA on....Tonnes of vapor and amazing flavor. Now I'm really confused so I pop a 1.8Ω EVOD on Evic and set to 4.2V (roughly fully charged mech batt) and compare vapor to K100...Exactly the same. Do it again with a few other clearos I had and same results.
Long story short...Why is my Evic having such a tough time firing the AGA T2 at the same voltage as my mech mod when there is no hot spots and it is not shorting out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
