I recently aquired a brass chi you as my first brass mod.

Im not a big fan of shiny brass but i love the look of aged brass. Keep in mind i dont know if im using the right terminology regarding brass since i have no experience with it.

Sorry for stealing the pic, but i believe it belongs to buzzkilla. I just google image searched.

I would love for my brass to turn out like this. Is that aged or just patina... is there a difference between the two?

I know basically its supposed to turn like that over time from use, but how does one achieve a perfect uniform color of the tube like that?

And also, in order to get my brass to that stage, am i basically forbidden to cleaning / polishing it forever? I am OCD clean and i wipe down things like my phone / sunglasses etc etc almost every 20 minutes, including my mods.

Thank you for replies.

nothing LOL
that stuff is pretty much bullet proof once its heavy. I had to take a buffing wheel in my cordless drill to polish my poldi last time.same thing you will be rubbing your fingers raw to get that off with a cloth and alcohol literally the only way to get rid of it is with some kind of polishing compound.

and if somehow you do rub a little off a day or two and it will be right back to patina.

Patina (/ˈpætɨnə/ or /pəˈtiːnə/) is a tarnish that forms on the surface of copper, bronze and similar metals (produced by oxidation or other chemical processes). On metal, patina is a coating of various chemical compounds such as oxides, carbonates, sulfides, or sulfates formed on the surface during exposure to atmospheric elements (oxygen, rain, acid rain, carbon dioxide, sulfur-bearing compounds).

Here's a link if you want to try and age it yourself.

Here's a brushed brass mod...

and here is the same mod Pressed Brass.

I've got the pressed brass version, it's beautiful, i'm assuming it's done during manufacture, but the brushed brass would just be a fine guage wire brush I'm sure... I'm sure you could google it, and I think it looks much better than shiny brass.

Buy a nemesis brass clone from fasttech and practice on that first.
Holy crap what is that brushed brassed mod? i love that, it looks almost like a dark wood
