Just got my smok treebox and iv had it since this morning but dropped it on concrete and chipped the amber paintwork. Its a tiny mark but it is driving me crazy. New years is ruined. Any idea how I can paint it again & make it as good as new?
Cheers Hans. Bloody cameras having troubles. Il do what ismoke said; sand it and find a stain. Just wondered if there was someone who already done this and knew exactly what I needed. Thanks neway
If it's a really tiny mark I wouldn't screw with the finish at all. You'll never be able to come anywhere close to what they have achieved. I'd leave it and live with it.
there is scratch, ding, gouge, and chip....
if its a scratch, candle wax if its a satin finish, if glossy clear fingernail polish
if its a ding, apply a wet cloth till it expands and let it dry then recoat with either above
if its a gouge, sand till contoured and recoat sanded area
if its a chip.... hopefully you can find the missing piece...
Thanx guys. Na its a chip but I dropped it out side so don't have the piece. It went through to the wood but it is teeny. Only £45 so im gonna leave it & when I get loads more chips (hopefully not netime soon) then ill sand the whole mod down and get a nice woodstain finish on the top. Im gonna get a new mod on the 26th neway so im thinking that tesla 160 ebony. Or something else regulated & wooden.
I have a red sig150 that I use for work that has hit the deck multiple times from different heights, rubs on my work knife, and had some other ware marks on it that have rubbed through the red finish and I actually have grown quite fond of it. Gives it character, gives me more of a sentimental feeling towards it it's not just another mod to me.

Battle scars to be worn with pride.
I like keeping my stuff as-new as much as possible, but sometimes its the chips and dings that make it truly "yours".

I try to keep all of mine looking new but for some reason, this one just keeps hitting the ground and getting right back up haha. Works just as good as the day I bought it, just has aged a little bit on the outside
