Got a question for you advanced and rebuildalbes folks. Please forgive my ignorance but one reason I like clearos is that I can buy a bunch of them and change flavors on the fly. I keep 5-6 clearo's and flavors most of the time and have clearos dedicated for certain juices.

Does it work the same with rda/rba stuff. Do you have to have multiples for different flavors or do you change on the fly or change the wicks. How does that shake out?

Unrelated news- Detroit Tigers best Florida Southern in an exhibition today 12-0. Grapefruit league games begin tomorrow. Braves (away) and Thursday (home). Yankees in town on Friday.

Short answer: Yes.

Please let me know how the Yankees look. Hopefully you get to see Tanaka (the one the Yankees signed, not the one from Major League 2).

Long answer: My regular rotation is three Russians, one Kayfun Lite+, two Aquas, and a number of drippers. I'm actually considering offloading more drippers since the other juice delivery systems offer the full flavor of dripping with capacity AND I'm curious about the new drippers that offer some capacity (Tobh, etc.).

Hey guys, 'sup?

Just wanted to pop in and comment on Smooth Criminal. The 6 week steep is officially over and SC went in the tank earlier this evening. I was pretty amazed at how much it mellowed out, smooth as silk it is. The underlying nutty flavor has taken its proper place in the background, thankfully. I'm not sure that I can describe what SC really tastes like to me. I love that subtle sweetness, it plays nicely off the tobacco notes. All in all, a pretty nice vape but I think I prefer the Caramel Wild Wood.

I'm right there with you.

I think it depends on your vaping habits...right now, I have 6 RBA's with 5 flavors...2 have my ADV, 3 have what I call my secondary flavors; ones I really like, but not all day. The 6th RBA is my Reo Mini which I am currently using to test out new flavors.

I usually have at least 2 with me when I go to the office...

Hey, Apptiger, Akdare's got it right. I'd also add that it's also dependent upon what rebuildable you use. If it's a rebuildable dripper, I only change the wick, definitely not as often as others, but especially if I'm going to change from say, SLEIGHRIDE, LOL, to JG BLEND. But the good thing about drippers is that if you go through a drastic flavor change as exampled, you only have a few drops to go through before the new flavor is tasted.

If it's a rebuildable with a tank, well, you're not exactly stuck with a flavor, but it's a bit more work to change flavors, since you have to remove the old juice before moving to the new. I would recommend putting your favorite juice(s) in a tank.

I own multiple RBAs, but I only use two with regularity -- I taste test and change flavors almost daily.

Short answer: Yes.

Please let me know how the Yankees look. Hopefully you get to see Tanaka (the one the Yankees signed, not the one from Major League 2).

Thanks for the feedback. Figured if I bought one, I'd wind up buying a bunch. Still lazy and busy but you know what they say about curiosity....

RP- Tanaka is currently scheduled for his first appearance on Saturday. Supposed to pitch in relief at home (Steinbrenner) against the Phillies.

Hcigar Kayfun 3.1 clone!

/end humor/joke/:)

I have a similar question as apptiger to the rebuildable experts since I am using Carto Tanks.

Noted in the funeral picture by SeniorBoy that his device was on a Provari.

If I went for the Kayfun Lite what Voltage and Batteries are you using for the Provari. I am also assuming the Kayfun has a 510 connector and no adapters are needed.

Believe also that someone posted previously this was a good place to purchase;

Kayfun Lite plus - InTaste

Took out the Gold Member today that has been steeping for like 6 weeks. Its good and caramelly but still cant taste that delicious salt!!:?: oh well its still a good vape ;)

Not that I am following you around but we do seem to have similar tastes.

Gold Member was in my vapemail received last Friday. I like to try my juices fresh to see if they are a reorder. This might be blasphemy to some but it works for me. From my last vapemail I had two immediate reorders; Lemon Cream and Vanilla Wild Wood.

For the Gold Member there are times I really like it and times that I cannot wait for the 10 ML Bottle to be over.

I have to say it is taking longer than the Vanilla Wild Wood to finish a 10 ML Bottle (VWW was scary at how fast I plowed through that one).

Intaste=YES

I have a Provari mini, and use both 18350 and 18490. Voltage is up to you, the resistance of the coil, etc. If you're using a Provari, pick up a SvoeMesto beauty ring at intaste; looks great.

This is very helpful since I also use the Mini but it is also where I get lost. I do not know what Wire, how many Coils, how to check Resistance, and Voltage to use. I am handy with building but a short primer is needed for myself and probabely others as to what I should buy to start.

I think this is the scary part in being educated on how to start (I was this way starting on the Carto Tanks also).

Ok. I'm gonna try to keep this simple for you so you can get started on the right foot. When I was getting started with RBA's, people gave me too much info.

What resistance do you currently vape?

I am presently using 4.5 Volts with 3 Ohm Cartos.

This is extremely nice of you to do this.

I'm not sure you want to hear from me given my recently ended love affair so please humor me. :)

First and foremost, you have a fantastic mentoring system in this thread. It's very very rare to find this in a thread which in "theory" is devoted to AHL. Ditto, Intaste is an outstanding vendor and you can be assured your getting the real deal which is critical. I accidently ordered the wrong size M tank along with my KFL + V2 and they contacted me and then changed my order. May seem like a small thing to some but a lot of vendors just ship and could care less :)

If you have a local B&M which does micro coil builds and you can watch them and they can critique your builds that's one way to learn which I am still doing. I ask lots of questions since their are different ways to "build" and that's how I learn. Natch plenty of vids and this thread to help you. This RBA journey can get expensive if you tend to favor the real deal or the Russian 91% like me. I suggest a dripper aka RDA and plenty of folks in this thread have the Igo-W. If you like the flavor enhancement (I don't chase clouds) and can justify the learning curve it's a great way to start. Drippers always have a use for testing flavors and sessions with your juices without the need to dedicate a PT2 or RBA to a single juice. The taste from a dripper gives you a very accurate idea of what a quality RBA will deliver without the expense of going directly to an RBA, only to find out it's not your thing which is fine.

Good luck and HTH.

This is great.
I haven't ventured into rebuildables or APVs at all really, and may never... but I don't mind seeing this stuff here because it reminds me that I don't really need to stay on top of many other threads on the board. The folks here are all of like mind I think. We all want to vape quality, safe (as much as possible) liquid, and we want that liquid to be as good as it can be. So we help each other out to that end. This way we mostly avoid hype and hustle and just keep it simple and real. I don't want to chase 100 threads, and buy every new gadget that comes out. Ain't nobody got time for that! I just want to find what works and stick with it, and be updated on the little improvements here and there. Y'all are the best!

I might suggest you try out a clone first if your looking at a kayfun/russian. They are very close to the original (I have Kayfun lites, russians and clones) and they all perform about the same. You would save a bunch of money in case you don't like it and even more if you do. Ball park prices:

$25 for an Kayfun Clone
$ 7 for 100 feet of kanthal wire
$ 4 for organic/sterile cotton balls/gauze

$15 - ohm meter (unless you have one already)

$36 = only need juice for the next several years (probably around 10ish years I'd guess).

This is one reason I started going down the RBA route. New heads get expensive over time and the clearos don't hold up as well as a stainless steel RBA.

Where are you finding a Kayfun clone for $25? (I'm new to RBAs and don't know all the nooks and crannies to look in yet.) Would love to try one on the Provari.

Please allow me to introduce you to Clone nirvana at https://www.fasttech.com/search?kayfun

Kinda funny, I respect and admire anyone who likes and makes clones work for them. I like my Russian 91% in spite of the minor/very small juice which accumulates on the base. That's a keeper for me in the wild world of el clonos. The others as you have read from moi, not so much. /lol

So I entered clone heaven or is it hell. I just ordered 5 drippers for a whopping $34 bucks and plan to build and load some AHL yum and then give them away to friends. See: https://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10005264/1638500

Believe also that someone posted previously this was a good place to purchase;

As far as batteries go, use whatever size you want. I guess it would depend on how much you vape and how often you like changing batteries. I have a full size Provari and use a 18650 battery mainly because in my accident last month I lost my 18490 cap. Using the 18650 I only switch batteries every two days but I'm not vaping as much during my time off as I normally would.

Voltage would depend on what resistance of coil you are building. Here's the link to the chart I've always used to determine what voltage I use. This is from PBusardo's website TasteYourJuice.com
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9dkanCt0I1qc8949o2_1280.png

The Kayfun and Russian both have a 510 connection so no adapter needed for the Provari. You can buy the beauty ring as well to make it have a flush look on your Provari. One day I may get one but the look right now doesn't bother me.

Akdare turned me on to Intaste. I ordered my KFL+ v2 from them on Sunday of last week, it was shipped on Monday and in my hands two days later last Wednesday. Germany to Ohio in 3 days.

Regarding Kanthal wire size: depends on what resistance you're looking for. The Provari v2 & v2.5 will fire down to 0.8ohms. I've got a Russian running at 1.16ohms and a KFL+ at 1.25ohms right now. The thicker the wire the lower the resistance. Thicker wire takes a little longer to heat up (we're talking by one, maybe two seconds or so) and lower resistance will take more energy from your battery. Remember when looking at wire gauge that the bigger the number the smaller the wire, so 30G will be smaller than 28G.

When I wrap a coil I like to stay around the 1.2ohm range. I use a 1/16" drill bit and 28G Kanthal. Eight wraps usually gets me approximately 1.15ohms and nine wraps 1.26ohms. I believe the most popular wire sizes are 30G and 28G.

You'll need some tools for a rebuildable though but not many. My KFL+ v2 from Intaste came with a micro screwdriver (Philips/flat head combo). I also use a slightly larger Philips head for the bottom screw because I like to use the bottom fill port. A drill bit as a form for the coil. A small pair of wire cutters. Either a propane/butane torch or even a lighter to anneal the Kanthal. An ohm meter box to test the resistance of your coil (I believe Intaste has these as well but they can be hard to find just because they're always out of stock). Here's one from Mt. Baker Vapor to give you an idea of what to look for:
Ohm Reader - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

Here's a picture of my little build kit:
image.jpg
I already had all of this from when I built my last computer.

You'll also need some wick. Most people using micro coils go with cotton. I believe Jerms prefers sterile rolled cotton from CVS.
http://www.cvs.com/shop/product-detail/CVS-Rolled-Cotton?skuId=95549
I use organic cotton balls from Walgreens.
http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/studio-35-beauty-organic-cotton-balls/ID=prod6097939-product
It costs roughly $3-$4 for a lifetime supply. I get around 16 wicks from one cotton ball. When using a cotton wick less is more. Make sure the wick slides through the coil fairly easily as it will swell when you put juice on it. Also never dry burn cotton because it will burn up. Once you get the hang of it changing a wick takes a couple minutes. The micro coil can last months and the wick for several tanks full of juice.

Here's some pics and video from my favorite reviewer on making a micro coil:
Taste Your Juice | SO I WAS PLAYING WITH MY COIL TONIGHT (MICRO-COILING THE RUSSIAN)…
Taste Your Juice | THE KAYFUN LITE AND THE RUSSIAN 91%

It may seem daunting at first but once you get the hang of it it's really quite satisfying. Vaping some great juice from a wick and coil you made yourself. A coil will last a month or two and the wick depends on your flavor preference. Building a wick and coil from scratch now takes me 10-12 minutes and I'm on the slow side.

Hope some of this helps.

Really sorry that you are having such a bad time with the Boge's especially with 100 bought. 30 Carto Tanks is a pretty impressive amount and have you tried the Smoks from IBTanked? With a sufficient quantity and no Sales Tax I believe they have the best price for the Smoks.

Thanks for the Pineapple Cream recommendation since I will add it to my Wish List. Lime Cream was added in my Order placed this A.M. with some Peachy's, Lemon Cream, Vanilla WW, and Maple WW.

I've got about 60 Unique, Bella, Elegance, Bedazzle, and JonBoy carto tanks. Each one has a Bedazzled glass tube, too. I love the colors and designs. I see that the only Smok they sell without a flange is out of stock. It isn't punched but I can do that myself. I filled out the notify me box. I do have one IBTanked tank and had Molehill Mountain make me a drip tip with the same acrylic as the end caps. I love it! I have some flanged cartos that I bought with it so I think I'll fill it with my Pineapple Cream today. I've got to do something different until I get new cartos or I'll go crazy

I second the post by DJLEC, referring to Smoktech tank cartos offered by IBTanked. I get mine there because they offer a single coil, regular length at 3.2 ohms; hard to find elsewhere. They offer other resistances as well. I have had a very good experience with them. The Boge? Not so much.

Thanks for seconding the recommendation. I use LR regular length but need them without a flange. They have a 1.7 that is perfect since I have a lot of mech mods. I might check around and see if anyone else has them in stock. I've been using Boge since I got my first tank and have never had a problem until this last batch. I keep about 30 Ahlusion flavors in stock so I use a lot of cartos.

I love Fasttech! I bought a lot of my colored K100s ($18) from them. Last time I counted I had 18. Bought a bright red and green from Hoosier Vapes since then. You can't beat the prices. I get my EVOD coils (authentic) from them, too. I'm always finding something that I want. They have a ton of driptips now for 1/3 of the price everywhere else. They have all the nice stainless tips. I picked up my Igo-W for $12. My last order without batteries arrived in 9 days by Singapore epacket.

They just got Vision Spinners in and the 1300 mAh is $14.26. Don't forget to pay attention to the reviews and check out the forums. You'll find lots of good info.
