My first Ahlusion order, placed yesterday morning, has shipped! :) I was not able to pin Wlad down on any steeping recommendations (He wrote: "Steeping really depends on your preferences. We do not have a recommended steep time as many like our e-liquids straight out of the mailbox, while others like to wait weeks, sometimes months! More information on e-liquid recommendations/preferences is posted here)

What do you guys recommend for these juices, all 70/30 PG/VG, 12mg:

Contrary Cherry
Cherry Cola
Pineapple Cream
Lemon Cream

Thanks, and happy vaping!:)

It has been my practice, based on the recommendations from Adam & Heather at HHV, to let new juice sit with caps off for 24-48 hours to allow any alcohol from the extracts to evaporate. (Some of us are "sensitive" to alcohol, even psychologically!) Wlad at Ahlusion says:

"Never leave the caps off on our e-liquids. We do not use alcohol based flavorings, at least not what other vendors use. By the time our flavorings are ready for use in e-liquids, there is less than 0.07% alcohol content! Steeping our e-liquids with caps off will introduce bacteria, mold, and or fungus."

FWIW....

Cherry Cola (and Sasparilla too) are great fresh. Those others I haven't had except from dripping samples at the cafe. I'd try them right away, then steep a while if needed, and keep sampling till they're where you like.

As for the caps, yeah, like Wlad says, there's no alcohol to evaporate. So about ten minutes with the cap off will introduce enough oxygen to begin the aging process. Other than that, shake them hard and stare at them with an impatient glare now and then.

In my experience, the Lemon and Lime Creams are good to go within a couple of days!

An excerpt from Wlad's reply to my feedback email: "For atomizers and quality RBA's, a 50/50 mix or slightly higher VG ratio should work just fine though unless it's running at a low watts/power setting."

Seems a little counter to the popular opinion in this thread lately.

On a (highly) technical note, I built a "micro coil" last night, consisting of 10 tight wraps of 28g kanthal on a stainless steel / cotton hybrid wick (came to 1.5 ohms), in a genesis style atomizer, and my 50/50 12mg Smooth Criminal really came alive.

I know many don't bother with this level of tinkering. I only mention it because of Wlad's recommendation for those who do "quality RBAs".

This is why I keep trying to like my VMod. I just can't seem to get used to atomizers but I'm not giving up. It's just us carto users that get the best flavor from 30VG/70PG. The flavors still taste good at 50/50 but you don't get the full flavor. The problem is that there are some flavors that are really muted by a carto. Like my Black Pomegranate Tea. It is wonderful at 30/70. I tried 50/50 and the pomegranate is missing completely. I've found that all the Black Teas really suffer if you try to use higher VG in a carto.

I've been watching a few videos about building coils. I really want to try a good RBA but I'm still a bit intimidated by them.

I did fill a carto tank with some 6 month old Vurley last night. Really nice and smooth! It's been a while since I vaped any of my tobaccos. I'm really enjoying it :)

Well my wish list is loaded....hopefully I will catch them open before work in the next couple of days. Going to try Café Au Lait, Contrary Cherry, Gold Member, Strawberry Cream and Pineapple Cream. Do I need more juice..no but going to order it anyway:laugh:

I agree with Eleanor...I find both the Lemon and Lime Cream good right away...the might mellow a bit with time but I don't put them away for steeping upon arrival.

Bukket, if Iowa Gal & I can build a good coil, I know you can too! :D Just be sure to start with a RBA that isn't too small, as those are the hardest to rebuild. I get all my juices from Ahlusion at a 50/50 mix, but I also only use my genisis mods & killer atty in a tank.

Bukket, I will remain intimidated by RBAs for as long as I live!

I use almost exclusively now T3-type clearos -- and I love my 70/30 pg/vg ratio!

I've had this very conversation with Wlad. Do you think he's just being overly transparent? If not, do you think this applies to all e-liquids? I trust that he know a whole lot more than me, but the more I learn about PG, the more confident I am in it's extraordinary anti-bacterial, anti-fungual properties.

This is important to me, because typically once I set up an RBA, I generally use it for weeks at a time before cleaning it. I often wonder if anything can grow within it- since it's constantly exposed to oxygen??

Have you tried Contrary Cherry? What's your take on it?

Yeah I experienced the lag on the site couple days ago around 3am HST/9pm EST and just couldn't order.

Luckily I've been taking naps right after work and messing with my sleeping time and woke up right at 2am HST/8am EST today and got my order of Blueberry & Strawberry Vanilla Cake, Boba Tea, and Mango Lassi all 30ml with the 15 percent coupon they provided for my previous order.

There was no lag, but I was probably one of the first to order today.

Excited to try both Vanilla Cakes & Mango Lassi. Boba Tea was a reorder from my first order and it is the bomb.

Also, to whoever asked about Ahlusion soft drink juices, I just happened to try the Cherry Cola I got about a month ago yesterday, and it is really close to the real soda. You can definitely taste the cherry, but just enough to still get that Cola taste. Good vapor and Th at 12mg/nic and 30vg/70pg.

I still have to retry the Cactus Juice I got, as it was just too sweet (got the extra sweetener and regretting it) and didn't give me much of the sodas taste the first week I received it about a month ago.

Contrary cherry is one of my all day Vapes. If you ever drank a vanilla milk shake and ate the cherry that is exactly what it tastes like. Just an FYI, this is a unique juice in my opinion because your tongue will get use to the taste and it ends up tasting like a nice tobacco. Can't explain it but it works out very well. Been vaping this juice for over a month in carto tanks and the puritank.
