Got my first two in from A-Xpresses (I didn't want to wait to see how their stuff really tastes) Contrary Cherry and Blueberry Vanilla Cake. Both Excellent!
Can't wait to get more.

Can't wait to try the Contrary Cherry- mine arrived yesterday and is steeping. I'm trying to be patient....Got my first two in from A-Xpresses (I didn't want to wait to see how their stuff really tastes) Contrary Cherry and Blueberry Vanilla Cake. Both Excellent!

That's why I did Express![]()
yup, and now that I know what they will taste like after steeping, I'm more inclined to order and let them steep. I wish this option was available from more vendors. But it's a bit of crap shot, get something that sounds interesting, taste it when it get's here.. blech... let it sit with the top open for a day, try it, blech, let it sit for a week, still blech, let it sit for 4 week, hey, now we're getting somewhere.... 6 weeks.. ok.. that's good, but now what I was hoping for.
With express, it's try it, yum! I'll get more![]()
I can see that, but with one having been made on 7/22 and the other on 6/27 it is a much better advantage than one made on 8/18 when I put in my order![]()
The XPress liquids, not only with taste, but with color, can also tell you what to look for when steeping. It gives you a much better visual indicator as to when it's *time*.
One thing I want to point out though, is that EVEN XPress liquids can still steep and change (for the better), but you have a much greater head start on that.
Wlad told me XPress was about a two-week head start, which is probably just right for a lot of the fruit flavors, but is just past toddler stage on the path to adulthood for Smooth Criminal, Deal Maker or Desperado. However, I have discovered that one Ahlusion tobacco is wonderful at every stage for me. Sahara Blend is veal and filet all in one cut. It's my hedge against poor steep planning.
My guess is that it depends on the flavor and MG level, some might be on the shelf longer, and others don't stay around that long. That's the hard part about predicting the future. You make up a batch of X size, then when it get's below a certain stocking level, you make more, and you have a minimum steep time of 2 weeks. Then you get to play the game of fad or trend. If it's a fad, you wind up with more than you really need, if it's a trend, you might wind up with less than you need.
Exactly.
You know, I remember when he said that bit about the "two weeks," but I thought about it and I realize it was solely in reference to what he "does" to the liquids to speed steep 'em that is the estimate of "two weeks." Some liquids will have a bit more of a steep since some get extra age. I asked him about this and he said it was light, not air (obviously air can't penetrate) that was furthering the steep for some. At the store, some bottles were older and deeper in color than others that were newer (some with lower mg were darker than higher mg--it was age that was the ultimate indicator) . They're all steeped, but some may have more time to bask in the light of the store. LOL
Mike, I checked my XPress bottles and I think you are correct about the numbers. Mine correspond to the general time before in which I bought them, but none are beyond the purchase time. Certain liquids, like Sahara, can barely stay stocked as is, so some get NO extra time (but they do get the treatment. LOL).
My last order was the first I've gotten mixed by anyone but Wlad or Ally (Rachel). So I'm hoping he's finding some lab helpers he can trust, and maybe we'll see some of the XPress liquids more readily available soon.
Just briefly at the store, and I had been dripping so many other flavors, I really couldn't give you a serious assessment. I know it's a combo of two different strains of Michigan cherry, and has some creamy vanilla too.
I'm sure you're right. My first order, this past week, was mixed by Wlad. I felt honored- Mixed by the maestro. The man truly is an artist!Wow. That man runs a tight ship, so I imagine she's fine.
Wait... I sense an opportunity here! If the proposed ban on internet sales passes, I'm hoping y cherry y and Mr Mann can send me a "care package" from Michigan once a month.
I think there's about ten Ahlusions liquids I a haven't tried yet, and Gold Rising and Vecchio were the only two I didn't like. They've been steeping for over a month now though so I should go test them now. Which one is SB?I love Gold Rising; it's my new ADV. however I love traditional RY4.
I'm working hard to hopefully perfect a traditional RY4 made from Ahlusion components- and I'm soo close. I've messed with a number of Wlad's vanillas, but finally landed on Vecchio mixed with Carl-mal mambo. My only problem- I ran out of Vecchio before I got it right. Unfortunately Vecchio is one of those that just takes for ever to steep, but when it does, its spectacular! This might sound strange, but my mix needed a bit of acid/bitter to balance out the sweet; I found that a drop of cherry and lemon flavoring did wonders for my concoction, although neither flavor is detectable.
BTW- I'm stoked to try SB. It should be arriving in a few days
