This is a FWIW, from me, who was NOT a fan of Ahlusion after a large initial order back in August IIRC.. Long story short, I was swimming with hype from this forum and ordered nearly $100 worth of 30ml bottles (yeah, I know..) including Smooth Criminal, Gold Rising, several Aromatics, Devil Dog, etc. My initial experience was that the liquids had something that severely burned my throat, sinuses, and mouth. The flavor was there but the chemical harshness was such that I couldn't understand how anyone could love these liquids. I emailed the maker stating my concerns (and I'm a big fan of strong flavors with heavy throat hit btw) suggesting that maybe I got a bad batch. He was not receptive to this concern and I didn't feel like arguing so I put the stuff in the steeping cabinet for three months. No change so I ended up dumping it all down the drain and moved on with other flavors from other vendors I enjoy. The stuff was just plain un-vapable.
This has always stayed in the back of my mind and I have no doubt that others thoroughly enjoy these liquids so I placed an order a couple weeks ago for SC and Caramel Pear Black Tea from the Xpress line. NIGHT AND DAY FOLKS. Seriously, good flavor, perfect throat hit, great vapor. Good stuff, and I am enjoying them immensely. The Smooth Criminal is not even recognizable compared to the original bottle I received months ago that steeped for many months with no improvement, then tossed. So.. Now I am officially enjoying liquid from Ahlusion. I took a lot of heat here and from the maker for my concerns with the bad taste from my first order but I am now convinced I was correct in my suspicion I had received a bad batch somehow. Nobody's perfect. I understand that. It still does stick in my craw a little that this scenario was never acknowledged as a possibility though. looking forward to placing another order soon but for now I will be sticking to the Xpress line.

Hehe, hey I remember you! Nice to see you here! And I can relate to what you are saying... My relationship with ahlusion didn't start out so great either. I think it was largely due to me being a new vaper, tastebuds still adjusting, and not having a lot of experience with other liquids to compare. There's some that I initially disliked that I still dislike.. but in the case of Smooth Criminal, its a lot like the night and day scenario you described. May have been a bad batch, or maybe it was just me.. either way I'm so glad I gave it another shot because its my all-time favorite juice now, and ahlusion is by far my favorite vendor. I've ordered from the 10 times since Oct and have been really happy with a great majority of what they sent.

Sharon, how's the Lemon Vanilla Cake? How does it compare to Torte al Limone?

Have not tried Limone and I don't think I will unless Vaperev lowers that $7 shipping charge.

Haven't tried the lemon vanilla cake yet either. Still needs to steep, possibly a month.

I also tried the Xpress Caramel Wildwood. Nice vape but the caramel note reminds me a little too much of Crème Brulee from nicoticket, that was just a little sweet for me.

You're right, it is on the sweeter side. The caramel does tame somewhat over time though. I know your preferences from Hurricane... I think you might enjoy Sahara blend, Dulce Cubanito, or Desperado. All of these are less sweet and more tobacco forward than CWW.

Funny you say that as my Fav from Hurricane, Sunset Cavendish, has become too sweet for me and just sits on the shelf now. I'm a Torque56 and Tribeca monster but am still on the hunt for other clean tobacco flavors. I'm really digging the tea extraction but would like to find one with a little less fruit. The CPBT is quite tasty though.

Thank you also. I only vape 4 juices. all tobacco. When it comes to juices, I almost always hate the juice. I tried CWW and I am not really sure on it. I only had 10 mil and I did not make it steep.

I vape tribeca from halo and Kentucky premium blend from Vermillion and now smooth criminal I tried it about 3 times and I made the mistake of getting 90/10 vg/pg at 12mg and there is absolutely no hit. I purchased more so I can mix it.

I vape at 12mg usually at 70/30 pg/vg. Is this the case with their tobaccos that with a higher vg level, there is no hit. I knew the hit would be less but this was nothing at all.

Thank you again.

Thanks this helps. Tobacco expert I am not however I am very familiar with Halo's Tribecca. This juice is a member of the RY4 family and I would say it's in the medium range for tobacco. Thus please ignore my AHL Shipwreck thoughts and I would be surprised if you eventually like Smooth Criminal. My guess is you need "stronger" tobaccos. The "Clan" has some very talented experts in this vein so hopefully they will chime in or you may wish to call the mother ship for advice. If you decide to call, just tell them your delivry devices, what you currently vape, your initial thoughts on the AHL juices (Perhaps dialed down a bit / no offence intended) and see what they recommend.

My guess, subject to the experts is try a small bottle of "stronger" tobacco notes in both the Aromatic and Tobacco Cats. Also, someone can explain to you the difference between an AHL "NET" and a Tribecca "chemical" mix which of course is a HUGE best seller for them and the very juice I started my Vaping journey with.

EDIT:
See goddess Sharon's post below mine. Bingo! /LOl

Good luck and HTH

:)

Hmmm... Well I haven't spent much time with Torque but Tribeca I know well. The one I would call most similar unfortunately is CWW. Clean tobacco flavors is exactly what I love about Ahlusion. Most other NETs taste muddled/bready to me, and most synthetics taste perfumey. Whatever they are doing in their extraction process just really works for me.

Ah, the subjectivity of taste!

TriBeCa is still my all time favorite ADV. But I hate RY4's

From Ahlusion, I do like Shipwreck very much, after at least a 4-6wk steep, close to an ADV for me.

Smooth criminal is now 2-1/2 months old. It has evened out for me, but not an ADV for me. There is a flavor in there that reminds me of coca cola, great if you like coke, me not so much.

Yeah, screw Vaperev. I wish the POET guy would sell elsewhere. Keep us posted on the LVC. I'd love it if I could settle for that instead of vaperev's shipping costs, cos al Limone is in my top five blends.

I still like tribeca and agree that I've never found another ry4 I can vape. All others taste like chemical and perfume cocktails to me.

Try it fresh just to see? The Limone is good from the moment you pop the top and stays lovely.

OK dude, I still vape Torque and Tribeca so I hope my rec here helps you: Desperado and Dulce Cubanito are for you. I also loathed all the aromatics, although we disagree on SC as its among my favorites. Also try the yerba mate tea. Also try Serendipity from HHV.

I agree with Desperado and Dulce Cubanito being great suggestions for Halo fans. Both fit the profile of an Halo arti.

Tribeca is also one of my favorite RY4s, though I also love a lot of other sythetic RY4 vapes. I haven't made a Halo order in forever, used to order from them all the time. I look forward to trying their newer tobacco offerings. Always had love for that company, one of the first vendor's I've tried.

I actually like Shipwreck better than Desperado. Desperado seemed to have the same ingredient in it as Gold Rising, which I cannot vape. I have CWW & Vecchio steeping now, I'll have to get a sample of the Dulce Cubanito in the future.

Dulce Cubanito and Desperado have been my least liked Ahl tobaccos so far. Shipwreck I'm digging. CWW is the shizzle to my nizzle. For rizzle. Gold Rising is the pizzle.
