I've heard about this technique, but never tried it. I'm currently using the steep time as an excuse to force myself to vape lesser juices (in between vapes of The Good Stuff, of course! ;))

I can certainly appreciate that! I was vaping "lesser juices" like mad before my order arrived, and I've been trying to clear out some of the deadwood in my collection that just isn't worthy of sitting next to bottles of Ahlusion in the classies.

D25, I had no intention of buying a True Stone DT today, but in addition to my Ahlusion order I did. I guess you inspired me...DAMN YOU. ;)

It's time for me to get back on the classies to make up for this day. hahahahaha. Out with the old, in with the new.

Lastly, is that True Stone DT big belly on the inside as well, or does the chamber go straight down?

SO sorry for my late response...the one time I go out for a few hours I noticed a few posts directed at me! I think you got the answer in Brett's forum...but there is a straight metal tube on the inside of the drip tip, so it goes straight down. Which one did you get? I have 2, and honestly have not touched any of my other DTs since getting these! Hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

On a seperate note...the "forced steeping" discussion....this may be a really DUMB question/comment...but I'm going for it. Does anyone think that having the juices in 100+ degree heat for a while does a similar thing as the hot water steep? I ask, because my juices come in from the mail extremely HOT living in Phoenix....I've heard it can speed up the steeping process, etc....but I still don't see how the "cap off" portion can be accomplished?

Any thoughts there?

I'm sure the heat would help speed things up a bit. We're dealing with a chemical reaction here (breaking molecular bonds, forging new compounds, etc.) and heat makes them operate more quickly. As for the cap coming off, unless I'm mistaken, oxygen is also an agent in breaking molecular bonds. It's a corrosive gas -- look at what it does to a freshly sliced apple wedge. My best guess would be that steeping cap-off or even opening the bottle periodically will allow more oxygen in and let by-product gasses vent off, permitting the process to work faster. As for a time frame comparison, I have no clue. It would be nice if someone with a lot of time on their hands would conduct some rigorous controlled experiments. We'd all come away with a better understanding of this steeping phenomenon.

WOW Tez...I just learned a whole lot more than I was expecting to when I asked that question! Thank you! It definitely would be interesting to see some sort of experiment like this done. Any volunteers? NOT IT! LOL :)

I couldn't wait any longer. I tried the serious cider and I have to say I love it. I was initially expecting the taste more of a cold cider. But this reminds me of a hot apple cider. Yesterday I tried it for the first time and then I went back to it today and it is even better. Now I have to try the other new ones I have. To wait or not......

Okay, I force-steeped half of my 10 ml bottle of Boba Tea (which arrived on Tuesday -- I shook it up and left the cap off for two days) in a pint glass of hot water, and I will call it a success! I vaped the force-steeped sample and the unsteeped sample side by side (same atty and voltage). The difference was subtle, but important. They both tasted basically the same, but the unsteeped sample has a slightly synthetic aftertaste to it, whereas the force-steeped tastes clean, natural, and has a little more depth. The force-steeped sample is also a very slightly deeper yellow than the unsteeped sample. As this is my first bottle of Boba Tea, I can't really say if the force-steeped sample is completely steeped yet, but I am satisfied with the results and will continue to vape it. Different juices may provide different results, but this experiment suggests that this may be a worthwhile steeping method. I would encourage others to try it out and report back.

Taking one for the team Tez, way to go! I found out about heat steeping because I use 2-3 ml clearos. Sometimes I'd fill 'em up and vape themawahile, be disappointed by the flavors so I'd leave them for a while (I got lots of clearos :D ). When I tried them the next day, the small amounts involved, and the heating from the previous vaping session, made them taste a lot more mature... just my personal experience..

Yeah! Same basic principal. Smaller volumes should steep faster than larger ones (as in your clearo) because it will absorb heat faster and more oxygen can react with it by volume.

I suppose for force-steeping larger volumes of liquid, one should use a proportionately larger volume of heated water because it will take longer to cool.

Just wanted to pop on the thread and say good morning and happy Friday, my fellow Ahlusionites. My first order should be here today. I am not going to tell you how many times I have usps tracked my shipment; NOT because they are late, but because my self imposed usps OCD kicked in; like if time 98 or so WAS really going to force that package to move faster. Sooooo impatient I am.

So this morning I finally see the wee hours of the morning "arrival to Atlanta" and know that my precious is one step closer to being ripped out of the box...and steeped (choke). What a great way to kick off my weekend though, right? Who am I kidding...I might have to sample a couple of the flavors at least..ok ok..I will see if there are steeping instructions in the box, but if not, all bets are off. I am tearing into them like a rabid wolverine at an all you can eat buffet. Then I can let them steep. Really..I can. I know I can.

Can't I???

Have a great Friday everyone and a beautiful weekend.

So glad to hear this...I have this one on the way as well! How strong did you find the "breeze" menthol option to be? That's what I ordered as well...in the past I have found that menthol overpowers the flavor in others I have tried, so I am curious how strong the Ahlusion menthol is when mixed with the fruity flavors.
Daniele- I am so not a menthol person- so I was scared about adding anything breezy- but I find this option to be a totally NON overpowering mint (no menthol taste about it)- it is very light - that brings out the melons MORE- quite magical:) YAY Ahlusion!

So I tried the devil dog last night and it's just not for me unfortunately. I guess I would say it's to smokey for me. Oh well, live and learn. I just need to quit buying 30ml bottles.

So, I got a 30ml bottle of 18mg at 50/50. If anybody wants it, hit me up with a pm and we can work out a trade or something. Just figured I'd through that out there before I put it in the classifieds.
