Finally received my very first A+ order :mail:. All 10ml bottles 18mg strength of the following:

CPBT 50/50
Serious Cider 50/50
Spiced Pumpkin Latte 50/50
SVC 50/50
Smooth Criminal 70/30
Grape Vine (free sample) 50/50

The birth date on these are 11/13 so they are all nearly two weeks in bottle. Caps are off and I suppose they will steep quickly for the most part. Now for the from-the-mailbox drip test. (I already tried SVC - Holy moly! Does this really need to steep?)

The bottling or "born on" date does not necessarily affect the steeping -- that is done by uncapping. Does SVC need to steep? Not if you don't want. Like I always say, just make sure not to vape it all too soon and you can vape and steep simultaneously. Cheers and happy vaping (or steeping ;)).

Well it won't evaporate any flavor base medium but it will allow flavors to marry so I figure after caps off, some of these will be nearly good to go, being small bottles and all. After trying Pumpkin Spice Latte and Serious Cider, I'm aware that they definitely need steep time, but I can totally detect their potential.

I think the non-aromatic tobaccos are a different beast and get a lot better after steeping (the tobacco base starts out... how shall I say this... a little "yeasty" perhaps?), but one thing I've noticed about the other Ahlusion juices I've tried is that they're all pretty good from the start, but generally one flavor dominates. With time, the dominating flavor recedes and the others come forward, making a perfect balance.

OK. First impressions of my 10ml bottles pre-steeped straight from the mbox. All are 50PG/50VG except for SC which is 70PG/30VG. I used a cheap bridgeless 2ohm atty at 3.4v on a twist. Nothing fancy.

Spiced Pumpkin Latte - Really good coffee flavor. Kona-ish. Not too sweet but not bitter. I don't detect the spice much yet in this one and I'm not sure if there's supposed to be a pumpkin flavor as well but I don't get that either. Steeping needed fer shur.

Serious Cider - This is going to be real good after a steeping. Spices are not very detectable yet. I get apple, but it's unique. Not apple fruit, not apple juice, per se, but oddly enough this tastes like an apple tea and it's really yummy. After steeping, that will probably distinguish it as a cider rather than another apple variant but it's too early to tell.

CPBT - I get mostly the caramel and a hint of both the black tea and the pear. I think this might need the longest steep time for the caramel to go farther into the background. That said, the flavors are spot on and when it's ready I think this will be a favorite.

SVC - From what I can tell this doesn't need much steeping. The flavors are well balanced and well developed. Totally authentic strawberry, vanilla creme, and pound cake. Sweet but not too. It's going to be hard not to vape this up before I get another biggle but I have other juices to keep me going for a couple of weeks. If this gets much better with time I'll be very impressed.

Grape Vine - This one proves to me that A+ knows how to do fruit flavors. I've tried dozens of fruit flavors and almost all of them left a lot to be desired. Now Grape Vine is going to need a healthy steeping but what I get is GRAPE. I can't detect the variety of grape. It's definitely not Concord (like Welch's Grape Juice). It's not white grapes. It's not too sweet and not candy-like. It's more like Corinth grapes (also called Champagne grapes) which are the tiny dark grapes you find in bunches. Impressed. My view on fruit flavors is widening.

Smooth Criminal - This is some really yummy tobacco vape. I have a pretty well developed pallet but the flavors here are illusive. There's a spice there which I can't figure out. Perhaps it's a quality of the tobacco. There's a fruit which I can't figure out. That could be the tobacco too. Is that caramel? Is that tea? I cleaned my atty. What is this stuff? There's something going on in this that reminds me of CPBT with tobacco but I'm not sure about it. One thing I am sure about is that it's really good. REALLY REALLY good. I have a feeling that this one is going to change frequently with every steeping week. Look out!

That's it. Keep in mind there's been no steeping yet. All are caps off now and napping in the cupboard. I would say that my first impressions will have me ordering 60ml bottles of SVC, CPBT, & SC. Plus 30ml bottles of Serious Cider and Grape Vine. I'll wait to see how the Pumpkin Spice Latte steeps before I re-order that one. Coffees can do weird things after steeping so only time can tell. Superb results. Out of six juices ordered blind, three stand out as amazing, and two are just great, one is good. How many vendors do you know where you can average that kind of success?

Just saw this after I posted my very long first impressions ^. SC...Yeasty. That's it. I would say it's malty but yeah. I get that. I actually like it.

Biz, when you say 70/30, do you mean 70pg/30vg? I started at 70pg, went to 50/50, but on this last order, I ordered everything at 70vg/30pg. I'm hoping not to lose flavor, but I like the bigger vapor and smoother throat feel of the vg.
Indeed, sir. 70p/30v is how I first had it.

After cozying up with this 50/50 for a couple of days, I can see why, when I was all, "I love it, but sometimes it's harsh!", everyone else was all, "
The_Eyebrow_by_brokenboulevard_by_The_Emoticon_Club.gif
"

The difference really is remarkable. My findings are the same with Sleighride, which I also tried at both ratios. One is a good blend of flavors, but on the harsh side (30%vg). The other is soft and pillowy and smooth (50%vg). Common wisdom indicates that higher pg ratios will be better flavor carriers. But I have found that for myself, with Ahlusion juices, the softer vapor of a 50/50 blend actually imparts more flavor with less harsh interruption. I wouldn't want to go with any higher of a vg percentage of that, though, because it does congest me just a little. Totally worth it, though.

The sample that Mo gave me of CPBT was more along the lines of 50/50, so I can't imagine how intense higher PG would be. I mean seriously, the TH was sort of off the charts.
You ain't kiddin.

It's funny, Caramel Pear Black Tea sounds like it could be such a froo-froo flavor, but it's anything but lightweight!

Well, I was one of the lucky ones who got an order in yesterday. I got my status update this morning and low and behold, the wonderful people of A+ have added a fun new sample to try, Milk Chocolate cream!!!!!!!

I sheepishly mentioned that if available I would to love to try it and sure enough it is included in my order.

I enjoyed Chocolate cream but if I am at the store I will always choose a Milk Chocolate bar over a dark chocolate one. I guess I am still a kid when it comes to my chocolate. So I wanted that in a vape. I will most certainly report back on the verdict.

Ooooh, interesting! Call me unsophisticated, but I prefer good milk chocolate. (My favorite is Cadbury Dairy Milk. SO GOOD.) Please do let us know how this one turns out!

What is is that bothers you about VG? I thought some folks had problems with PG, but I didn't know VG was problematic.

Hi Bukket, what happens to you on the higher VG? Im curious, cause I seem to have had a cold for the past two months, so I am trying to figure out what is causing this or if its allergies. I vaped 70pg/30vg of wicked vapor juices for 8 months and never saw any sinus issues. At this point, Ive switched back over to the old crappy juice I have, to see if my sinus issue clears up. I am sorta sad, as I hope that is just some type of cold. If it is allergies, I will then have to figure out whats causing it, VG or PG :(

I have already been on two rounds of antibiotics so doesn't seem to be a sinus infection. I also can't rule out environmental either which im working on this as well.

VG gives me a "smoker's cough" and I haven't smoked in 6 years! I switched to a new company and was vaping 50/50 and after a few weeks I first started coughing, then I started coughing up junk, and next it hit the sinus's. I thought it was a cold at first, too. But then figured out that it was something in the juice. I thought it was the PG since everyone talks about having problems with it so I ordered some VG juice. I vaped 1/2 ml and felt like my lungs were underwater. I switched to 80/20 pg/vg and everything cleared up and then I moved up to 70/30.

I started out vaping Smokeless Image and never had any problems at all. Found out later that their juices are 90/10 pg/vg.

Madden, I hope the 70/30 works for you. Your symptoms sound a lot like what I went through. Did you switch to a different ratio before the symptoms started? If you increased the VG then I would look at it first because if you decreased the PG I doubt that it is the problem. You vaped 70/30 for 8 months so you know you can vape. That's the good part! I hope you figure it out and get better soon. It only took a few days for my symptoms to clear up once I figured it out.

The good thing is that I can get all my flavors in 70/30 from Ahlusion so you can, too. I recall seeing one on Ahlusion that was 90/10. I need to pick it up to keep around for when I've over vaped. I get worse when I don't sleep enough cause then I'm awake vaping all night.

My goodness, thank you all so much. I just learned a great deal about PG, VG, and symptoms of intolerance. I'm not a fan of throat hit typically, and that nasal burn that Monkey loves to rib me about. I'm pretty sure those are PG related. When I moved from 70pg to 50pg, I really liked the extra vapor and reduction of those two "problems" (burn & TH). Now that I've moved to 70VG with this last order, I'll have to keep an eye out for the heavy lung, smokers cough thing and make sure I'm good there. If I am, since I mostly drip, I'll go even farther with the VG down the road, and reorder something I have at 70pg and compare for flavor transmission. I just love experiments. Oh wait, I'm a vaper. I AM an experiment.

Memory has been kind to you. Surely you recall the first two days of vaping with SI. Maybe your experience was different than mine, but I was PRETTY sure there was battery acid in those things. I've never coughed so hard in my life. Well, that's a lie, but at least I knew it was coming.

Edit: Actually, I have noticed one VG related problem, although it has nothing to do with Vaping. Leaving it in the car overnight in the cold of Iowa or Michigan makes it AWFULLY HARD to get out of the drip bottles. Stuff is like pancake syrup!

I just switched to 60/40 and 50/50 from 70PG and while I enjoy the balance of TH better, I have noticed more mucus in my air machines. I think I can hack it though (pun) :p.

I'm not so worried about that consequence. Early in my vaping, I found out that there isn't much if any nic absorption in the lungs because of the much larger size of the water vapor molecules, apparently we're mostly getting it from the mucus membranes of the mouth and nose. So I trained myself early NOT to inhale it all the way to my lungs. No point putting something there if I don't need to. I just pull it deep enough to get it to the epiglottis, almost like swallowing, and then I can exhale through the nose without a full lung pull.

Thanks Bukket, basically, I vape, the same ratio 70pg/30vg as I did before, which is how it has me puzzled. I guess i could be vaping more than I did before, thats why I switched back to the other juice I had, to see if it clears up.

I managed to get my second Ahlusion order in right as they opened on Black Friday (was adding items to my wishlist when they opened for sale). I got (in 70PG/30VG/12mg):
30mL Blue Grass Burley (was tempted to get 60mL at this price, but restrained myself so I could get some loose leaf tea)
30mL Pumpkin Spice Latte
10mL W&A Sasparilla
10mL Boba Tea (cocount)
10mL Chai Latte (sweetened, for my gf - finally got her to buy an eGo kit!)
10mL Jade Dew (sample)
1.5ohm Bridgeless 510 Atty

Between the free priority shipping, the free sample, and the black friday discount this was quite the sale! I also got a pair of VVN minis from electronicstix (with all these flavors some extra tanks will be essential).
