Hey all! I joined the forums a few days ago, but have been putting off making an introductory post since I never know what to say in these things. lol

Anyway, I've been vaping for a few months now and stumbled upon this site while doing a bit of research into what brand to try after I decided there had to be something better than Blu. I've been a smoker for about ten years now and like most smokers, have always had the fantasy of quitting but never getting around to it... for one reason or another. Yea, I'm sure most here know what I mean. lol

About two months ago, I decided to try Blu and see what e cigs were like. Initially, I was pleased with them, but their shortcomings became apparent within a few days, even for a first time vapor. So, I started looking around online and google returned this site in a couple of different search results about what to try. I finally settled on Halo and have been quite pleased with them. I love their Tribeca flavor and their Prime 15 is a pretty good cigarette substitute, I find. I do plan to try out a few other brand's hardware, though this has nothing to do with being unhappy with Halo, but more out of curiosity and well... I guess just the fact that vaping is a new thing and I'm still getting into it.

I still smoke analogues but vaping is definitely helping me smoke less and less. I hope eventually be smoke free. Also, I have to say that I just love calling regular cigarettes "analogues," now. lol

I guess that's it really. I always feel like there's something more to say with these things, but I guess that will do for now. Happy vaping, everyone!

Well, that intro post is over now (I never made one, just posted in various threads). Welcome to ECF!

The best thing to do is complete your post count requirement, and then venture throughout the forums and gather all the info you need to stay off the stinkies, find flavors that you like, and gander at all that is available to you, as a new vaper.

I smoked analogs for 30+ years, and if I knew it was this easy to quit, I would have done it sooner :) But the truth be told, this is a fantastic time to start vaping, since the tech has come along where it's easy, affordable and fun to get to get a fantastic experience and stay smoke-free.

+1. If you fantasize about quitting, then you're in a good place to quit. For me, I needed a whole lotta power, battery life and strong juice. Started in 2009, failed. 2011, failed. Why? Didn't have the gear and juice to power through cravings. 2013, finally, big boy gear and strong(er) juice, and lotsa choices. Vaping Nirvana...that's what starting vaping in 2013 is. I made it. And SO CAN YOU! If you want to quit, this is a great way to do it. Vape on! Good luck, welcome to the Team!

+1! I smoked for 20 years and this was a simple transition.

Welcome fellow vaper/new ecf'r! Keep posting and verify your way to the classifieds. This is the first year where there seems to be a healthy second-hand market forming for vapers, as there's more equipment in circulation. You have't lived until you go unicorn hunting.

Billbeckusa, you described my experience exactly - had to gear up and juice up, moreso than my initial attempts before totally tossing analogs. The 18650 battery and the emergence of tanks, completed the transaction. I won't knock dripping but it was not driving friendly. For awhile there we were all sort of chasing an all day setup when really nothing was there yet.

Indeed this is a good time to start this hobby.

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone! Seems like a good community and I can't wait to start joining in on some discussions. Still need to prove to the system I'm not a robot. lol

I get you - but the fact that you're here means that you're not a robot.

The ego thing - just get 2 of those and 2 evods (and a charger and some juice). Sorted! :)
