Yeah I dont think I'll be brave enough to join the mile high vape club, but if what what was written about an airline selling vapor kits, then I guess anything is possible.

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I'm going to print a copy of that allowable items list, pack all my vape supplies together in a shaving kit or something, and hopefully when they open it up they'll let me through ok since I'm not sneaking around.

Thing is, I could handle losing a bottle or two of juice. Could probably even handle losing my 808 kit, but if the darwin were to get confiscated, I'd probably cancel my vacation lol.

Wish me luck!

There is no problem bringing your ecig in your carry on as long as you don't use it on the plane. Bottles of eliquid must be kept in a ziplock bag and placed in the basket's that go through the scanner. I've had no problems vaping at airports in the smoking sections, and security was more interested in if it worked in getting me off the analogs. Stick by the rules and you are fine to fly. Make sure your extra batteries are not loose keep them in an approved container. Check dealextreeme for battery cases for 18650's and cr123a's.

There are two different kinds of smoke detectors, and both can be set off by steam (no word on vapor specifically). Photoelectric ones are apparently less sensitive than ionization ones, but who knows which ones are more common in aircraft.

I don't think it's a good idea in general to vape on a plane when you aren't allowed. Getting caught would likely bring a ....storm down on you. If you must, stealth vape. Just hold it in for a good 20 seconds. It's the particulates that would set off the alarm, not the chemical composition in this case.
