batteries go on board with you, it's illegal to check them. Make sure the mod is off. Liquids go in your liquid bag along with whatever else you are taking like shampoo, etc. I use the unicorn bottle too but put the juice in regular bottles and switched it to the unicorns after I got there. On the way back I just left it in the unicorn bottles with no problems.

Here's the liquid rules 3-1-1 Liquids Rule | Transportation Security Administration

TSA is remarkably good at recognizing vaping gear and you should have no problems. If they ask, just explain it. It's no biggie.

I'm flying to Europe in a few months, and I plan on having my vape gear and a few small juices in my carry on. I will remove the clearomizer tanks from the batteries. I'll also put some extra larger juice bottles in the check in luggage, just in case.

It's illegal to sell nicotine juice in some of the countries that I'll be travelling to, so I need to come prepared, and have everything I need with me.

so i have to put my sig in with my checked baggage?
nevermind just thoroughly read your reply.."mod must be off"

No! You CAN NOT put the batteries in your checked luggage. Turn it off so it doesn't accidentally auto fire if the button gets pressed against something. Oh, and have a great trip! You too IC. :) And double bag you liquid in your luggage, the pressure difference in the cargo hold is more likely to cause the bottle(so leak. More air there is in the bottle, more likely to leak.

Thanks! The liquids that I put into my check in luggage will go in the same compartment where I put my toiletry items, and I will definitely pack them in some heavy duty zip lock bags.

I use to disassemble my gear for travel purpose.

Batteries stay in a plastic battery box in the carry on. Expensive mods stay there too. Anything else in the checked luggage.

The advantage is safety. And, if something goes wrong, you have done your "due diligence" so it will be classified as an unfortunate accident not negligence. Also any "smoking in the lavatory" incident cannot be stuck to you (you don't have any atty or liquid available to you).

Disadvantage is you cannot vape between two connecting flights even if the airport has a smoking area. If that's a must then you may consider having an atty in a ziplock bag (pack some paper towels with it in the bag as most models will tend to leak during flight). Alternatively bum a cigarette if you have a really bad craving. Just one won't get you back to smoking.
