Airmail more expensive than EMS?

I have placed order #46136 and I was curious about the shipping price during checkout. See screenshot:



Airmail was $0.20 more expensive than EMS? Normally its about $5-10 cheaper. Is this a bug?

Probably not a bug. Once you get to over a certain weight, airmail to some areas is going to be more than EMS because it increases every 100g whereas EMS increases every half kilo (500 grams). I THINK, anyway.

normally shipping cost via china airmail is cheaper than ems shipping cost for small orders.

It was supposed to be a a small order . All I wanted was soft empty bottles, then my cousin, who I convinced to switch to vaping last week, wanted me to order juice for him. Since I will not even be here when it arrives, he volunteered to pick it up for me if I included the juice. Guess that stuff must be heavy or something. Oh well, guess I can never make a small order from HC. Thanks!

Both my uncle and my cousin are looking forward to this and the last order I placed. There's a good chance they will both be off analogs and 2 new customers for you.

@zerominusone, ha, depends on location of the ambulance and how big the order is. I had what turned out to be a panic attack a couple years ago, but I thought I was having a heart attack. Ambulance ride cost me P1000, what I pay for an annual subscription to the service, and I opted to pay the P400 extra/per ride to have a doctor ride along with me. As a bonus they keep an ambulance parked in my neighborhood 24/7. Now a big enough order from HC could result in a $50+ EMS or airmail bill .

Vocr, I was in the hospital a few years ago and had to go to a different building that was right across the street to have some tests done. They told me "the ambulance will be here in a minute to take you over there". I told 'em I'd walk but they wouldn't let me; even though it was right across the street. A few weeks later I got the bill and just the ambulance ride across the street (less than 5 minutes) -not the whole bill- was $681. That almost sent me back to the hospital.

Yikes! Certainly no order from HC will ever make shipping that expensive.

That seems rather unethical. If you choose to walk and save yourself US$681, how can they stop you? Its like a store saying you must buy the most expensive couch when all you want is the cheap futon. I believe, in the store's case, that would be robbery, or at the very least, unlawful imprisonment.

I've only used airmail from china once, it took almost a month to arrive. I use EMS only now and usually get my stuff in about a week.

Once is not a very large sample size. It usually takes 2-3 weeks to the USA except during their busy times. For small orders that you don't need sooner it's much cheaper to use airmail. And if you want to make a large order, just wait until you have enough to make it over $250 for free EMS shipping (for many countries including USA) and the discount code. The package can weigh any amount, if it's over $250 they will ship free.
