Alerts...

Do different alerts all look similar...
Like, does the "like" alert look similar to a "tag" alert?

Because when you have 47 alerts, it would be nice to quickly see if any are NOT likes.
Like for instance, if one of those 47 alerts was a "tag" alert, it would be nice to know that.

Maybe someone can tag me, and I'll see for myself if it is any different looking.

Do like I did. Turn the alerts for likes off.

Other than that, you have to look at the alert list to see what each one is for.

Hey, thanks for tagging me!


I just wanted to see what it will look like in my Alerts.
Which, as I expected is pretty much indistinguishable from Like alerts.

i think i got the 'alerts' set to my liking now

but what about those popups in the lower left of the page? any way to put a stop to those? they are wreaking havoc on me! if i'm in the middle of typing a post and one of those pops up it knocks my page out of kilter

Unless you turn all alerts off, no, you'll see the notice in the lower left corner.

Yeah, and the last thing you want to do is click on them!
I made that mistake once and I won't make it again.

@DC2 : I have disabled my Likes alerts. It does help! I never realized how much my stuff got liked.

The list in the Alerts gets a lot smaller and definitely more manageable. Easier to read a shorter list than to search through a lllllllllllooooooonnnggg list of mostly likes.

And I gave you a Tag alert to boot!

I can't remember what happened...
But it was a bad... traumatic...
And apparently I've suppressed the memory.

I THINK it took me off the page I was on and put me on the Alerts page.
And then when I clicked "back" it took me to the top of the page I had been on.

Just thinking about it gives me chills.

"Liked" ... to no avail, of course ... I guess you can still see it below the post though
