Alexandria, Louisiana expanding smoking ban (includes e-cigarettes)

Alexandria, Louisiana is expanding its smoking ban to include bars. The town is essentially smack dab in the middle of Louisiana.

And while it hasn't been reported anywhere, the current ordinance would ban e-cigarettes in all enclosed public places of employment. I only found about this because after seeing the below-linked article, I called the city clerk, and then the city attorney, to get a copy of the ordinance.

They certainly are speeding up the process. A news article talks about a "smoking" ban expansion where discussion will be held that very day and probably be voted on within two weeks. No mention of including vaping in the "smoking" ban, just casually adding it to the definition of "smoking".

I would guess the discussion period is now over and our only hope is someone actually reads emails or there is someone local that can get to some of whoever is voting on this to remove E Cigs from the "smoking" ordinance. Hate to be pessimistic, but this looks like an improvement on the previous methods used to get PVs banned. Keep the people out of the process as much as possible.

Should be interesting to see the FOIA paperwork leading up to this one.

Incidentally, although I'm not real positive on what good it will do, I did send off the them to give them my opinion as everyone else should.
