ok precious girl......... brought forward from a really old post, just for you. lol
As many people have tasted White Rabbit, tastes different things. Totally different for almost everyone. Lots of people taste chocolate, maple, pecans, and all kinds of other things that are totally NOT in there! lol
primary... coconut
almond
cake
cream
sweet
and a little little little bit of pineapple.
and having said that.......... Kindelle (my daughter) swears it is her grandmother's Christmas bon bons. Chocolate covered coconut filling with pecans and no amount of talk will dissuade her. I totally taste white chocolate and many many times, I taste some kind of liquor...not sure what. but, I love it.
where White Rabbit actually came from......
when my sister and I were little girls, we would stand in chairs at the counter and watch Mom (suzz's grandmother) make this wonderful cake that she was well known for. Coconut sprinkled white cake. We loved to watch her. She would nearly always make two. One for whoever she was making it for and one for us. After she had finished with the MAIN cake and put it into the cake keeper for transport.....she would get ours out and look at it.
I can still remember the way she looked with her apron on and the way she loved to play with us. "What do you girls think? It's missing something, right?" And we would squeal and jump up and down and scream ....pineapple pineapple pineapple. She would open a huge can of pineapple and pour the juice into a tiny little pan and somehow make a syrup or sauce with it. She would remove the rings and give them to us. We made a huge production of placing the coconut rings onto the cake, ever so carefully... and then when the syrup was cooled, she would let us totally RUIN her beautiful fluffy coconut cake by drizzling this awful looking stuff (sauce) all over it. We would each have a case knife where we could stab the cake and make holes in it....to pour the sauce into.
It was a huge ugly mess and the most wonderful tasting magic I have ever known.
White Rabbit
It seems to bring forth images much like these but out of the individual person's past experience. hence...... it really IS magic.
