Hi. I was going to buy an ali'i from R&R but a friend of mine recommended Reo Woodvil/ Reo Grand from reosmods. I don't like the Reo Grand in the first place, so my choices of comparison is between ali'i and reo woodvil. Has any of you used either/both of the two above? What is your experience? The door on the woodvil seems very lousy. I don't think an earth magnet can hold on the door very tight while the ali'i has a clip in door, I also like the round/oval shape of the ali'i. but all in all, which one do you guys recommend? how is the flavor/ vapor on either of them? does any of them mute the flavor? any of problem with vapor? any of them has any issue? any leak? I also like the option on ali'i to choose between 3 and 6 volt. I appreciate your feed back.

I have both...IMO the woodvil is sturdy and the vape is a true 3.7.It has quality craftsmanship. The Ali'i is more fragile, as its wood is thinner in the doors. It does not have as strong of a hit, because of different wiring(i own the standard version, not vv). The one I have has doors that actually can be a pain to get in and out. If your wanting the Ali'i, be prepared to wait an average of 5 weeks to be built

another note: I can't use an imr in my ali'i. Ryan confirmed this (but I forget the reason why)

By saying " It does not have as strong of a hit, because of different wiring" you mean the Ali'i doesn't have as strong of hit, right? The hit is a very important issue to me. I also heard that ali'i is very fragile. Thank you for the reply.

The Ali VV Mod can not take abusive handling like dropping on a hard floor without possible damage to it, but is built very sturdy. It vapes fine with no leaks and is very ergonomically friendly for long use. The Doors on the ali work fine for me and fit tight as they should.. The Reos are all built like tanks and are very fine mods.

Get the one you feel would work best for you and your situation as to how you will and where you will use it most.

They both deliver great performance and both companies stand behind their work. The Ali will take longer to wait on though.

I have both an Ali'i and a Woodville. I have to keep supergluing the top of my Ali'i back on the the middle piece of wood. While it is slightly more comfortable in my hand, I prefer the Woodville.

The Woodville is a solid piece of wood, except for the door, so quite solid. The door itself is far more solid than the metal version doors, and its fight is quite tight. It doesn't really need the magnets, its been cut so perfectly it is not loose at all.

The button is on the side, as opposed to the top button on the metal Reo's, so I actually like it much better than the metal ones.

The Ali'i is one of the few wooden mods I don't own.

I have two Woodvils & they are both nice vapers, but there are a couple of issues I've had with mine. The first one smelled of tung oil/ solvent for weeks. I tried many things to get the smell to go away faster, but there was no quick fix. The odor lasted 3-4 weeks & the device wasn't usable. It did finally subside enough I could use it, & it vapes great. The second Woodvil has a beautiful door, but it fits poorly. It's very loose. I had to put pieces of duct tape to the back so it wouldn't slide apart easily. Unfortunately, the tape makes the door stick out from the body. Replacing the door is not an option, as I purchased this Woodvil specifically for the grain in the door.

The Woodvil is a nice mod.
The Ali'i appears nice too.

Don't think either is going to be perfect. I own 12 wooden feeder mods. Not one is perfect & they all vape beautifully, no matter who made them. Don't get caught up in the "which one is best" thing. The best one is the one I have in my hand! They are all different...
