Brand new here. I have been vaping for about 3 full hours. Well actually two. It took me about an hour to figure out that you have to hold the button down when you take a drag. :) I have been lurking on this sight since Monday while I was waiting for my Go-Go to arrive. There is a whole new language to learn. It was like reading a foreign language at first but I think I am understanding a bit more now. Most people seem to have a lot of gadgets. That kind of freaks me out a bit. I am a bit of a collector. If I find something I like and it comes in 15 colors or flavors I must have them all. I thought I was going to be saving money. :(

Any how, I just wanted to say hello from San Antonio. Any advice would be very helpful. The only person I know who vapes (the one who insisted I try it out) lives very far away.

Hey there Boyz-Mom and welcome to the ECF!
Some advice I got when I started vaping was to drink lots of water! Up your fluid intake and things will go much smoother with your transition. Also, you may experience something we all go through from time to time called vaper's tongue, or the 'WHY CAN'T I TASTE IT?!' phase.
Also, back ups-back ups-back ups. Since you've already admitted a penchant for collecting this shouldn't be a problem. The start up to vaping can be expensive but once you find a set-up that works and juice you love then the expense will level off.
Have fun on your journey! :toast:

Problem for me is I like allot of stuff, got a k100 a couple weeks ago but saw the kts+ flat top and couldn't resist it at only $19 and of course I felt I might aswell get a couple rdas along with it XD

I keep hearing ppl say I will slow down and maybe someday it will happen, already have more than I need. Otherwise since I make my own liquid it would cost me under $5 a week to vape if I stopped buying new toys.

Hi there and welcome to the ECF. If you are in SA, Thanks for Vaping is a great store. They are over on 410 and San Pedro just inside the loop. They have a lot of stuff from beginners thru to some gadgets for more experience vapers. Best thing is, they have a juice bar where you can sample around 50 different juices before deciding to buy them.
They also have a little sitting area where you can talk to experience vapers and get advice. Staff are super-friendly too.

Between that place, the ECF and youtube, be prepared to learn a ton of new information and enjoy the vape.

I have been using the throw away ones from the gas station for about a month. I actually bought two on my way home from work because the package tracking thing said that my Go-Go would not be delivered till the 5th. I was so happy when I got home and saw it was delivered early. That was a waste of 20.00 for the stupid Blu things though. Kicking myself right now.

I can tell a HUGE difference already. When I used the throw always it never really scratched the itch. It just sort of smoothed the ache a little bit. This new gadget really scratches that itch. It feels very satisfying. I m so excited!

I quit smoking a long time ago because I had cancer twice. My hubby is VERY anti smoking. We moved to San Antonio from California and the first friend I made smoked. It had been 5 years since I had even a puff. I just had to try one one day and I was hooked instantly. I have been off and on now for a few years always sneaking them and trying to keep my dirty little secret from my hubby and kids but always get caught. I am so tired of that loop I have been on. My hubby is on board with this so no more sneaking!!

Stick at it Boyz-Mom, this forum is more than a resource for information, it's my support group too. I quit the very first day I got my setup and I've not looked back - thanks in no small part to members of this forum.

Oh, and don't beat yourself up about buying those blu e-cigs. They're good backups to have in a drawer in case of emergency.

If you are truly ready to quit (and it sounds like you are) vaping can really make the difference, but you need to find a setup that gives you a consistent vape with minimal fiddling. It's the easiest thing in the world to have an issue with an ecig and use that as an excuse to go back to the stinkies. Pay them a visit over at Thanks for Vaping - even if you aren't ready to buy anything, they'll be able to show you some good intermediate setups to help you on your journey.

Hi & Welcome :) I'm in Houston, and actually visiting San Antonio this week for vacation with my girlfriend! Anyway, yes ~ the wonderful world of vaping. Gadgets and juice galore. It can become quite a hobby, I'm realizing! It's fun though :vapor:

As far as juices go -- from one newbie to the next - I suggest create your own sampler packs. It'll save you a lot of $$

Many vendors have that option, but here are some of my favorites:

https://www.velvetvapors.com/
Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes
Ms T's Bakery Essentials
https://www.halocigs.com/

Eventually, in the long run, you *will* save $ by vaping... Plus, it's so much better overall... AND definitely tastes better ;)

Welcome to ECF!

Well, we will be there tomorrow through Wednesday :)

We're going to watch the fireworks tomorrow, the Riverwalk the next day, spend the day at the hotel on Saturday... Sunday we're doing touristy stuff like the Caverns and some El Mercado market (??) Then Monday we're hittin' Sea World (I've never been), Tuesday is the Drive-Thru Zoo. Maybe I can convince my GF to go to that Smoke Shop there too, lol

Welcome,
I am one of the biggest fans of the go go and go carts. After trying every device PV, APV Mods and every delivery device I could get my hands on for 11 months with no success the gogo system was what I needed that fit my lifestyle so I was able to finally put down the smokes.

If you're a person that wants to try every new delivery device that comes along or likes to fiddle with your vape equipment you probably will be disappointed. They use proprietary threading that limits users to go cart's (3ml cartomizers) and fury/gogo tanks the go cart's can be hard to find at times, so when you order delivery devices stock up.
An adapter can be used so other delivery devices will work on the gogo, if you use an adapter you'll have to be cautious not to stress the threads on the battery or they will break.

If you're someone that wants a no hassle no leaking no flooding no fiddling needed PV with excellent taste vapor production TH and battery life and don't mind the proprietary threading limitations a go go battery using go cart's is hard to beat IMO.

I like the no hassle kind of thing. I couldn't be bothered to try and modify something. I think I will be quite satisfied with the Go-Go. I just know I am going to need a lot more tanks to switch flavors. I had a friend who had tried a bunch of things and insisted that I try the Go-Go.

How long does one tank last you though. I was not a heavy smoker and don't think that I will be a heavy vapor-er either. Just wondering.

Are you asking how long the liquid in the tank lasts me or how long the tank/clearo will last before it quits working?

I use 3 ~ 5ml's per day now, down from 6 ~ 10 ml's per day went I first started vaping / quit smoking.
I have 1 fury tank / clearo that is 191 days old and still works like a champ, 1 that was DOA, a few that only lived 2 weeks, most work for 1 ~ 3 months with proper maintenance.
I prefer the go carts over the clearo/tanks by a long shot.

Welcome to the forum and to the new healthier addiction. I am still new and waiting for it to calm down but having so much fun it doesn't matter (until I see my charge card statement). At first you want everything you read about and then you read enough to get interested in learning how to be frugal. The DIY stuff is pretty awesome too. Good luck to you and hope to see ya on here.

I bought 6 flavors and got two freebies but only got three tanks. One of the tanks is threaded wrong so I really only have two. I sent a email telling them that one does not work so hopefully they will send out a new one but I can tell already that I am going to need more tanks.

You can get by with only a couple of tanks depending on often you'll be switching flavors. Or, you could be like me and amass a small collection (too many to list). I did fine for my first few weeks with just a couple tanks because I found a couple of flavors that I really liked at the beginning.

Advice: if this is going to be a long-term hobby, don't worry about trying EVERYTHING...there's time and always new stuff coming out. Do your research before buying something...it may look good on the site but have terrible reviews like skeletons in its closet. ECF will have better, unbiased reviews than the website (they may not post the negative ones).

Good luck and welcome to ECF. Vape on!
