Ordered some awesome tasting apple/cinnamon from the great folks at Vermont vapor and am allergic to it.
It drove my asthma nuts after a couple hours.
Now I cant vape anything because I get a reaction to stuff I had been using with no problems.
I hope that goes away because analogs stink.

If you have allergies/asthma be real careful what you buy and try it in small doses first.
Not doing that led to one of the worst asthma attacks I have had in years and if I didn't have a neutralizer would have been in the ER because my inhaler would not stop it.

It could be the cinnamon. I have done my own cinnamon flavor and it is a major irritant for the lungs. I chain vaped it for a complete evening and the day after I was unable to vape because of the pain. Now I use use one drop of my cinnamon per 3 ml of juice!

If you have asthma I suppose the effect of inhaling cinnamon could be bad.

I also could be wrong since allergy to PV is a fact for some people and I do not know how strong is your apple-cinnamon juice.

Wow, that's really scary. I posted the other day about whether someone with a nut allergy could vape nut flavored juices. A few people said they had no problem.

I'm glad I ordered flavorless juice. I'm allergic to most nuts and a lot of fruits. I plan to experiment with flavors 1ml at a time so I don't contaminate lots of juice with flavors that trigger my allergies.

duh! Thanks! why didn't I think of that will try a new atty tomorrow and see if it helps.
Don't want to try it at bed time.

Trying anything that might cause a reaction at bedtime is usually a bad idea especially if you want the rest of the house to be able to sleep ;). I just hope it helps when you do get a chance to do some testing. Best of luck, hun!

    sounds like a good idea.
    be careful
my favorite is lorann english toffee I mix my own.
If you get the eyedropper that fits as a lid on the small bottles one eyedropper per a 3ml bottle is what I use.

Very glad someone mentioned this. I believe it is indeed the cinnamon, which is an oil, and an irritating aldehyde (cinnamaldehyde). I won't vape it at all for this reason. Some people are ok with cinnamon, but aldehydes are implicated in lung disease in flavor workers. Sounds like it really bothered your lungs, and I'm not surprised. Cinn gives me mouth sores, so vaping it is not a good idea for me. Plenty of great flavors out there without risking serious problems from cinnamon. Just my opinion, as an organic chemist.

Stormy1 I would lay off a little, and then perhaps try, as jj suggested, plain VG. Lots of people here with asthma that have no problems with vaping. We all need to be more discerning with the flavors, I think.

    Mine !

I took a real cinnamon stick, put it in small pieces and soak them in a 50% vodka 50% PG mix for a week. It is really good :D but not for my lungs :(

I was thinking of trying the same thing! 8-o

My target was a Djarum Black clone. I was thinking clove oil + home made cinnamon extract.

I used to loooove Blacks. Not only did they have an out of the world taste, every time I smoked them women came up asking for one. :D They'd usually stick around and chat. They said they could smell the Blacks all the way across the club and that the smell instantly took them back to their rebellious teen years. I guess cloves were big with teen girls in the 90's? My friend used to call them "The Gold." F'ing smoking ban put an end to that.

Go ahead but be cautious! Maybe it will work with cloves. I do not know if clove is a lung irritant. Once your have your flavor use only a little at a time then wait one day and add a bit more if flavor is not strong enough.

For me, in retrospect, I do not think it was worth the hassle. I am in canada and was not able to find cinnamon flavor. Now my supplier have 2 different ones. I will try them but at a very very low concentration.

Clove is a huge irritant. That's probably why real Blacks are so hard on the lungs. They're clove and cinnamon.

tried a new atty and 36mg VG cut in half with pure VG.

Most of the reactions went away no asthma attack but did cause coughing.
    going to wait another day.

stormy1, it sounds like the cinnamon bit you, and it will take a little time. take it slow. vaping is good, but there are plenty of sources of nic. i personally like the lozenges (CVS "Commit" knockoff). 18 mg gives a reasonable throat hit to me, so you might take it down further for a bit. I would be starting with just pg or vg, no nic. Then if all goes well, add nic a little at a time. no sense being a casualty of vaping.

fotsirk, you are correct. clove (eugenol) is a serious lung irritating oil. I won't vape it, but others seem to like it. Djarums were popular back in the early 80s when new-wave was starting. The little spike logo seemed like that's what it felt like: a spike going through your lungs.

yea! back to vaping with no real issues.

started with unflavored then switched to English toffee.

Yay stormy!! :D I am so happy for you! May vaping continue to work for you, but I would still stay on the conservative side for a bit. It is clear that your lungs are less forgiving than some people's which I think is actually a very good thing. It will keep them safe. I would imagine that some flavors will irritate them even if they are not oils or known irritants. Just pay attention, keep the %s low in the beginning when trying a new flavor.

Now you can have your time sucked away in the world of cart mods! Yay!

    :-x <---- me trying a new 510 cart mod.
