Hi,

I've purchased my first squonk mod which is also my first unregulated mod, the Vandy Vape Pulse BF.

The problem is that when I fire the mod, I barely get any vapor (not even close to getting any satisfaction). My build consists of a Vandy Vape Mesh rda with a single fused clapton coil reading .460 Ohms on my smok Alien TC mod (I use this mod because I don't own an Ohm reader yet). The battery I'm using is a MXJO type-2 which is currently 67% charged.

When I screw the rda into another mod it works just fine, so the build is not the problem but I have no idea what is could be. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks in advance!

I'm gonna guess that the coil is all Kanthal. I'm also gonna guess that you're other mod is regulated.

For that coil to produce the kind of vapor you likely want, you'll need more voltage than a single cell mech can produce...

What is the other mod... Where the atty worked fine... Set at?

Consider building lower... Something like a single 24AWG Ni80 5 wrap 3.5 mm ID.

And, get a better battery.

On the part of the mod, make sure that blade switch is making solid contact..some have reported needing to pinch the switch a little...

Fused claptons... like Shawn said, you need a higher voltage...or power to ramp up the heating of those coils quickly for a good vape. Nom charge at 3.7volts is just about 29watts. Very low for fused claptons.

Workaround: Assuming you get the right battery for your mod, pulse your mod about 4 to 5 times, take a quick MTL-and-blowout (purging) before you do your normal DTL vape.

And if I were to do dual coil? Wouldn't that lower the resistance?
Using two identical 0.46 ohm coils would give you a resistance of 0.23 ohms, theoretically.

Those coils would have an 18 amp draw; that's over your MXJO's amp limit of 15 amps. Get some decent batteries that will support your build and make sure you don't go over their amp limit.

And get a dedicated ohm reader!
