almost time to fly my heli..

I've only got one, I just replaced the motors and put new blades and a new tail on it, less chance of those two things breaking with whatever they're made out of. I don't fly it often because it's hard to find a decent day to fly it outside where there is absolutely no wind, and as you can see I don't have much space inside to fly. So my flying is at a minimum as of now. I'd like to get a bigger one for outdoor flying, and with the tail prop instead of the two mains (for beginners).

I Only run R.C. Cars/trucks..I wanted to buy a heli but found out its almost a min of 100 bucks to fix if i have a crash. :(

currently running
Tamiya TT-01R: setup for drifting
Xmod: with full upgrade for (basement racing)
Traxxas T-Max w aluminum upgrades

For the same beginner helicopter I have the Llama V3 (they might have better now haven't looked in a while) check out DealExtreme: $97.52 E-Sky Lama V3 R/C Helicopter
and you can order parts, and upgrade parts to make it lighter, they say it helps prolong battery life. This is the site I used last few times I needed parts for that heli I posted a link to. But here's a link to the parts site Esky E012 Lama V3 Parts

Have a look around you can find cheap ones with cheap replacement parts, but you get what you pay for. This little one can't be out in the wind, it's too light and as soon as wind hits it the dual axle blades slap eachother and your heli comes crashing down. I know I've done it. Indoor in a big room or garage, or only on a calm day are the best times/places to fly these helis.

Are the hellicopters easy to fly? I tried on a simulator demo but failed miserably until I got the onboard view, the planes seemed a little easier! I'm stuck with ground vehicles, can't see too well you see!

Would love an onboard cam on my tanks!! Could also turn one into a solar powered robot somehow I guess!

the 6 channel helis are hard to get down.. the little indoor ones are easier..
everyone says go for the 4 channel to learn on.. then go to the 6 but then they say that learning the 6 channel is like starting over.. so i figured i would just learn with the 6 channel and be ready to fix it a few times..

the simulator probably was not configured with the controller right.. i tried one at the store.. then bought my own and was able to fly the one i bought..
and if the planes where easy to fly on it.. then it was probably set up for plane flight it has different settings on the simulator when you set it up..

i am still working on basics.. hopefully by next year will be able to mount on camera.. there are a few real estate agents around here that hire planes to fly over and take pictures of the lots they are selling.. would be able to pull off the same shots with the rc but at a lot lower cost..

This simulator I tried was Realflight demo, it just used the keyboard maybe that was my problem hehe! It kept going to the left before making a very satisfying crunch noise as it hit the ground, I guess if that happens for real it isn't so satisfying and alot more expensive :D Thats the best thing about the demo is the crashes!!!

I guess I could be of interest to an estate agent with my tanks but only for the ones selling property to small animals and mice :)

Here's a little video of the E-flite I think I've posted here before.

if mine hit a fan pieces of the blades would blow up everywhere.. i saw these flexible blades for sale the other day could not find any reviews on them though in the demo they where running the heli into a brick wall..

wish that piece was here already its a nice day today.. still cold but nice enough to be outside..

that is a very calm cat too.. most would run away or try to knock it out of the sky..
