Well, I've had my 901 for a long while now, but have really used it to vape when I was unable to smoke. However, last night I decided that I really do want to quit smoking - after all, that's why I bought my e-cig in the first place. I guess I've just been putting it off, but no more. This morning when I walked the dog, I smoked the last analog I had. When I stopped by the store this morning, instead of buying a pack of smokes, I bought some Snus instead to help me out along the way.

So, here I am, Day 1. Ordinarily I have two analogs on the drive to work, but this morning I had none. Instead, I vaped away on the drive. Wish me luck!

Congratulations - you're gonna be very glad you made this decision - before you know it - you'll be counting the weeks instead of hours and days. By the way, I'm using snus on occasion to - I've never used any smokeless tobacco before, so it's taking a little time for me to get used to it !

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. What worries me is that my wife smokes, so when I get home tonight, it's gonna be tough. I'm trying to talk her into quitting (I bought her a 901 kit awhile back as well, and some juice that she likes). So, I think tonight after work will be the biggest challenge.

And I can only encourage you to "encourage" her. Some people just aren't ready to give up the sticks. Maybe if she sees you doing well, it will help her decision. Just tell her to maybe vape and smoke. That's how I quit...unintentionally...but happily.:)

Good Luck! My last analog was Feb 5th in the afternoon. I was vaping the rest of the day. I woke up the next day and thought I can make it 24 hours than see how I feel. I always told myself if I can stay away from smokes for 24 hours I can do it forever. That I think was the most psychological part for me. Feb 6th and 7th were kind of hairy with urges. I think the urges were psych though. I mean I was vaping nicotine so I had my fix. It was just the habit of lighting up I had to get over, A 32 year habit! Trust me when I say this if I can you and your wife can. Plus I really want this banner to mean no analogs. So when I look at it I truly know how many days I have been smoke free.

You may have to go for a ride or a walk - get your mind off of it and try not to dwell on it - it's a tougher deal when your spouse smokes - just the opposite with me - I was the outsider in my house, which I'm sure makes it easier quitting - however I don't have anyone here that can really relate to what I've gone ( going ) through - BUT - that's why I have all you guys and gals - right ? :)

This forum has helped me a ton - non smokers can't relate - they just can't - the addiction to cigarettes is insanity to the extreme. After I had stopped for a couple of days - it just seemed to them that I should stop even thinking about it and move on to something else - YEA, RIGHT ! At any rate - I've gotten plenty of pats on the back right here - at home to - but here everyone knows exactly what that next guy is going through -misery loves company I guess.

( P.S. The snus helps to - thanks for the push in that direction TV - I'm getting the hang of that to - just got in a good order this afternoon and giving several different ones a try )

I hope that it will be smooth sailing for you. When I first started vaping, the smokers at work said things like, "we'll see if you are still non smoking in a month." After two weeks without smoking, they all started asking questions and 4 of them are now vaping:) The last one holding out has now said she is going to try vaping as well. If they all make it we will basically be a smoke free office (about 50 people total).

What amazed me was that I could still be around the smokers without wanting one. I hope that will be the case for you. After the first 24 hours, I began to get my sense of smell back and I thought to myself, ewww...I never want to go back to smoking cause that stinks. I am trying hard not to be one of 'those' ex-smokers.

The point of all this is that you can do it. Come to the forum for encouragement when you need it and be kind to yourself. If it takes awhile to stop completely that is ok too.

It is difficult to drop them completely when the wife is smoking, I'm dealing with that now. You just have to fight the urge to bum her smokes, vape your head off the rest of the day. I manage to get one or two out of my wife every day, I think she feels guilty that she's causing me more difficulty by not using the Ecig she bought. In a way I have manipulated her into being an enabler. Maybe if you guys can agree on a 'smoking outside' rule that could help, the lovely weather lately just might motivate her back to the Ecig. :)

    Good luck!

I started vaping back in august, and at first it was easy, no cigs no nothing. That lasted almost a week, then I had one or two every now and then, justifying it by not smoking as much as I had previously. I was going thru a pack every 3 days. Then 2 days, then 1 a day... On top of vaping when I couldn't smoke. 2 weeks ago I decided that I was done... just a spur of the moment decision. I got up one morning and said to myself, I'm not going to smoke today. I almost left the house without bringing my security blanket (half pack of cigs), but changed my mind at the last minute. I didn't have any... To get to my point... day 3 was hell. Once I got thru that I was ok. I even spent last weekend (refugee without power) at a friends house, and they smoked indoors. I made it thru that ok, so I know I can do this now. Just hang in there. You can do it.:thumb:
