Ok, I haven't posted here for a bit, partially out of guilt perhaps. I went three days without a cigarette and then relapsed and went from 2-3 packs a week to 4-5 packs a week. I can probably blame that on pre-wedding jitters and stress from my job, but that would probably be an excuse too.

Anyway, I've now been married for a week, and I've been analog-free for that week. It's starting to get a little better. I work at sheetz though and one of my jobs is stocking cigarettes and it just seems cruel heh.

I have one 510 from winning the new member contest, and two that I bought in a kit from madvapes. I've had them for awhile now and they've had their share of wear. I'm starting to think I need some new atomizers, and some different batteries. The battery I got from the contest seemed to give me a better experience than the other two.

This creates some questios;

1) Where can I find the longest lasting, most powerful batteries for a 510?

2) In the likely event (from my research) is that there aren't many choices for strong long lasting 510 batteries, what would you folks recommend as a replacement model? I want something shaped more like a cigarette and less like a screwdriver. Not because I mind the strange looks and questions I'd get from people, (I also smoke a pipe), but because I want it to be as much like a cig as possible. I received a copper mod from that contest and it's just not as comfortable or satisfying to use.

Much thanks,
-Derik

Hello DerikC,

First of all, congrats on continuing to try in spite of your relapse. Quitting cigs is not an easy task and it takes courage to stick with it.

As far as longer lasting 510 batts go, I would recommend the eGo as well. I use it and a batt gets me through an entire day at work and then some. Here is my routine so you can get a feel of how the eGo may work for you: I start the day at 7am with a fresh batt, arrive at work by 9am and get home around 5:30pm. The batt is still going when I get home! I use about 3ml of liquid per day. I take a few vapes every 10-15 minutes while at my desk and then I go outside a few times a day and have a more serious "vape session".

Like you, I started on a regular 510. Great little device and it got me off cigs! The eGo gives a step up not only on batt life, but I feel I get overall better performance in terms of taste and vapor production. The eGo is a little bigger than the standard 510. it's maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer (not much at all) and the diameter is more like that of a AA battery. THe eGo has more of a tapered, cigar-like shape to it. It's a nice, classy looking device. Feels good in my hand and isn't too big like some of the other devices I've seen.

Overall, I am a big fan of the eGo. It works well for me (1.5 packs a day for 22 years) and has kept me smoke free for 6 months now! If you decide to try it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Best of luck to you!

It could be argued that "General E-Liquid Discussion" wasn't the best place to post this sort of question, but whatever...

Let's eliminate this one: I don't suppose you're sitting in front of a PC all day, are you? If you were, a 5V 510 pass-through would outperform any battery/atty combination you'd care to name, at least in terms of longevity.

Short of that, doots has already named the obvious candidate, that being the eGo/Riva/Hello class. Of those, Hello (AKA F-16) would be the "longest lasting," at 1300 mAh; unless, like myself, you're a vapor maniac, that should last you through a whole day. If by "most powerful" you mean in terms of vapor production & throat hit, all are 3.7V. Not good enough? Get a LR 510 atty.

Outside of that, there's a thin, cigarette-like mod sold by VaporKings called the GG Slim, and
it's a thing of beauty; sadly, it's also 3.7V and will set you back a mere $158. if that price didn't faze you, for another $55.95 you could add the SuperSlim upgrade kit. It's essentally an extention tube into which you could mount a second battery, bumping the voltage to 7.4V. But then you'd have buy a high-voltage (i.e., high-resistance) atomizer, because that much juice would fry a standard atty.

First of all, you're right. This wasn't the right forum. That was an accident that I didn't notice until you pointed it out. Feel free to move the thread appropriately.

Secondly, I'm now looking into the eGo. It looks like just the thing I was looking for, thanks!

It takes 510 atties but do I need a different charger? Any places where I could buy a kit for less than $70?

Just yankin' on your chain about the forum choice, Derik. Looks like you did just fine in terms of responses anyway.:D

Nhaler sells their Ego kit for $69, just inside your target. But here's another--I believe better--option: Their EgoMania 900 kit comes with extended-life 900 mAh batteries, as opposed to the standard 650 mAh: EGOMania 900. And the kit comes with a charger, so don't sweat that.

It's @ $79, but here's the thing: when you're checking out, enter this discount code: saveinnj

That'll knock $7.90 off the price.

Be sure to look into the Riva before you pull the trigger on an eGo.

Both are 3.7V but Riva is 750mah compared to eGo's 650mah. Not the biggest deal in the world by any means.

I just like my Riva a whole lot. :D I hardly ever use my 5V PT.

Edit- just saw PI's post about the 900mah eGo kit for $80. Not a bad price. EastMall sells the Riva kit (2 batts, 2 attys, USB/wall charger, 5 carts) for $50 plus $15 shipping from China.

Box Mods Black Riva 48.99 free shipping in the US.

Wow. Dammit. I paid $67.00 @ Nhaler...well, wait a minute. It was $67 less $6.70 with the discount code, so I was down to $60.30...Still not good. Ummm...but Nhaler includes a free 510 LR atty & drip tip with their Riva kit, which they otherwise sell for $9 and $5, respectively. I had a use for both, so that took me down to $46.30.

At least you could look at it that way, which naturally I choose to do.

I wonder why on BoxMod's site the Riva is listed as the "Riva eGo". I thought they were two totally different units made by two totally different manufacturers.

I can tell from the pic on the site (and the batt mAh) the "Riva eGo" he's selling is, in fact, a Riva. Why doesnt he distinguish between the two models on his site?

What is the difference? anything aside from the 750mah v. 650mah? And, what does that even mean to a layman like myself?

Also, Is there a big difference between Boge v. Joye v. Trueman Atties? And what's the function of a drip tip?

The Riva is considered by some to be a refined design of the eGo. I don't think there is a significant difference other than price, capacity of their standard batteries and aesthetics. What BoxMod means by "Riva eGo" I have no idea, unless it's a way of expressing that this is Riva's version of the eGo.

mAh = milli Amphere hours, and it's a measure of a battery's storage capacity. It's not a direct measure of how long it'll last between charges, because that's going to vary from one vaper to the next. But bigger is better, in any event.

Joye is the original manufacturer of the 510 and the eGo--and their atties. Boge & Trueman 510 atties are aftermarket clones.

A drip tip is nothing but a mouthpiece with a hole drilled through it which allows you to drip e-juice directly onto the atomizer bridge with removing the mouthpiece, which in practice is more convenient than it may sound.

I got my Riva kit a couple of weeks ago for $39. Great price until you factor in the $17 flat rate shipping, but still cheap if you buy other stuff at the same time.
