The summer of 2007 had this Smashing Pumpkins track played a LOT. It was the final summer that my beloved and I would be worlds apart. The lyrics have a lot of meaning for us.

One of my very favorite bands. I've seen them live several times including two nights in a row at a realatively small venue, The Variety and once at a small coffee shop. Met the band a couple times and was lucky enough to be in one of their videos standing in front of Clem Burke who has been a drummer for Blondie, Dramarama, Pete Townsend, Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop and The Ramones, among others. My sister went with me to the video shoot and she stood in front of me and behind John Easdale. After the filming they did a short concert for the people who came for the video shoot, it was great! If there is any band that I am close to a groupie of it's Dramarama.

Zzyzx Rd - Stone Sour
Hard to believe the lead singer Corey Taylor and the guitarist Jim Root also perform with/as Slipknot.
I've always liked this song but after my Mom passed away in 2008 from a fast moving cancer, 3 weeks from diagnosis to passing, it took on a new meaning to me. She passed on 7/3 so it was kind of a summer song for me. Not for fun but for mourning and healing. Ok, I'll make the next one upbeat, I promise.

This is one that my grandparents used to put in the 8 track player in their motorhome when we were on summer vacation. I promised something more upbeat, here it is.....
