I just saw this thread, I'll have to read/listen to the other posts later... I don't care about winning the contest, but here's a wall of my fave summer tunes.
Most of these have been on my iPod for ages and they are ALL time-tested, 100% perfect summer songs, for a cross-country road trip and/or just rollerblading in Central Park.
I first saw The Beach Boys at Milwaukee's Summerfest in 1975... and finally again in Coney Island, 2010 - they're stlll out there 50 years later, and still a fun show.
