All right. Back again. I have forgotten the original purpose of this thread in my mind. It is just the place I go to draw up thoughts of tunes from the past.

This one has been the first track I play when going on a summer road trip for years. A phenomenal album, Trace, by a phenomenal band. Loved Uncle Tupelo, but Son Volt really drug me in so much more.

The Beat Farmers. If you have never listened to them you should. Brash and a blast, some really good time music. One of my fave tracks, I first heard it while living in a trailer one summer with my sister and dad, right before they leveled the park while we were away.

Blood on the Saddle. I remember first hearing this song on KDHX (local community radio) one hot summer night. The only reason I remember this so well was I recorded the radio show, called the DJ, and he had me come in and play whatever I wanted for 3 hours. He played everything. So I played everything. Great memory.

OK, these guys are not considered country in any way I am aware of. But, this is my favorite song by them (only liked early stuff anyway) and this album, 'Clam Dip and Other Delights' is frigging awesome. It sounds very country-esque to me. And I am going to type the word 'summer' so it is related to summer in some way. Summer.
