Hi Canadians :)

Has anyone placed an order with AltCig out of Vegas? Did it arrive ok? Is this normal?-- My order was shipped from Vegas, and made it to Los Angeles (which seems like a step back, but whatever).... at the end of last week USPS tracking told me it departed the Los Angeles sort facility, but there have been no new entries for a week and it's not showing up on the Canada Post system yet! I'm getting worried! Is it wandering the scary streets of LA all by itself? Lonely, cold, afraid? Or have evil Customs secreted it away? I'm really hoping it finds its way home soon where it will be loved and appreciated.

I ordered something from Illinois, and the very last update it received was it's departing from the sort facility there, and just showed up in my mailbox ~3 weeks later. I guess they just don't update it that often?
3 weeks from Illinois!? Yikes! I've had stuff from HongKong come faster than that.... but thanks for the encouragement, Jables. Hopefully it's just what you're saying and it'll show up Monday. I'm usually a very patient person but I'm just so desperate for some juice! ;)

That is perfectly normal.

My last cloudsofvapor shipping update was from a sort facility in Miami and my last surevapes order disappeared after sorting in a city in New York. If you're using free or cheap USPS I'm guessing the tracking stops once it goes on a plane and the cheaper shipping does not get tracked by CP as far as I know.

So, for yet another Canadian shipping thread:

Standard shipping from U.S costs less and takes upwards of 2 weeks to get here. Express shipping from the U.S costs around $30 and gets here in a week. Courier gets here next day or in two days, costs the most and could be dinged for import fees.

This is the general information that is posted in almost every shipping thread on here. A search sometimes would help most folks that are curious about their products that they are waiting on.

Sorry.... it appears I made a faux pas. Is it better to let old threads pass away and start new ones, or continue with threads that are 900 pages long with no possibility that I'll read even 5% of it? Just sayin'.... I'll hold my questions until I've read more I guess...

Not so much a faux pas as acting on instinct and posting up a new thread. No harm done. It just seems like there's a new thread posted every week or two regarding the same issue and the same points are re-hashed again. Person X ordered from Vendor Y and has not received his/her shipment and USPS tracking stops at the border or at a sort facility. My point is that it all depends on the level of shipping that you paid for, and the resulting tracking information that is then provided.

Cheaper = Slower shipping with limited tracking.
Expensive = Faster shipping with full tracking.

For the folks that mention China, I bet that the shipments they receive in under a week are shipped EMS or a courier service. China regular air-mail could take a month if you're lucky and upto 3 months if you're not.

With regards to the old threads passing away, why would you need to post a new thread if the information you seek is already in the old thread that you have come across and read before? Duplication of effort is it not?! So, let us continue under the assumption that you have not come across any old threads and are thus asking this information as a new user. ;)

Unless of course Canada Customs gets in the way

I am a chronic user of the ECF search, and I sift through the annoying 60% off topic threads so I know what you mean, and also from experience, never expect a package from the U.S. in less then 10 business days. Although I recently had a MadVapes order arrive in 5. That was unusual.

It arrived at last... and spent the night in the post box! augh! I checked the mail three times yesterday right into later afternoon (delivery is usually quite early in the day), then gave up.... but apparently I should have checked ONE more time... today when I went out, there was a padded envelope in there, and I know they don't deliver today.... so it must have arrived very late in the day! In any case, I'm happily vaping Butter Yum now and steeping the other goodies I got in anticipation of tasty vapes....

Oh yes, and the Butter Yum was a freebie! Thanks AltCig :)
