Alternative to Vapor Titan/V4L

I've used a tank system with V4L Titans for the past 5 years and have become frustrated with the stocking of that model. I began loving the XL stealth, soon out of stock. Then a rainbow of non-stealth colors... one by one running out of XL and not restocked. Now they have a new model, but it is regular size only, and no more XLs at all. When I ask customer service, they are on order and soon to restock... that was 2 years ago.

I like the style of the Titan, and only a battery of that strength works with the tank/dual coil cartomizer. I'm curious if anyone knows of a similar KR808 style/power (any brand) battery I should try out?

I am a creature of habit without a lot of understanding of vaping terms (I had to look up 808). I wouldn't use a mod, if you are talking about something that looks like a box, or any other fandangled doohickey. No zeus style bazooka protruding from my pocket. To each his own, but all I want is a simple cigarillo battery strong enough to function a similar tank/dual coil cart set up. If 510 offers that, I'm all ears.

Hmm. Pen style only. I would say stuff that might work for you would be an innocent endura t18 or a joytech d16. Those are about as thin as things get these days. There’s also the ego EVOD stuff which is old school but functional

You didn't say whether you use the manual or auto Titan. If auto, I would recommend the V4L Zeus which is the same 808 threading as the Titan. They do come as dual mode (can be used either auto or manual) which are full-time 5v and I think there's a manual variable volt as well?
They are fatter than the Titans, but not huge (about the same as an Evod) and I find them well-balanced in the hand, though I haven't used one with a tank. They don't come in many colours though, one thing I miss from when I used Titans.

I vote for the Kangar sub-vod c setup; it’s a little fatter than the titan, it’s 510 not 808 (think VHS/Beta) and changing coils is a piece of cake. And the coils last for weeks (I’m a heavy vape user and I only have to change coils about every 4-5weeks, very economical!)
Thanks for the reply... I had not heard of Kangar so went to their website. I think the subvod is thicker than I'd like, but saw a 'Slim Kit' that looks like what I was hoping to find, armed with a 1.5 ohm coil like I use with Titan.

Thanks, I use manual but actually have a Zeus. It was ok for battery life once charged, but much thicker/longer than vapor titan which doesn't work for me. Not a front jean pocket device in my experience. Also, the time it takes to re-charge was also a problem for me.

No worries. It's been a while since I used a Titan, so I didn't realise there was a big difference in length from an XL to a Zeus. I'm surprised you can fit an XL Titan + tank into a front pocket though.

Anyways, if you like manuals there is a whole world of 510s out there to explore. I wish you luck in finding your new setup quickly.

I actually misspoke, twice. First off, what I have is a dial a volt zeus, which may be bigger than regular Zeus based on the website pictures? Second, I just compared length and there is no difference between my dial a volt and Titan XL+tank. It's just width. Reading through the reviews of dual mode zeus, I might give it another try. With pass through feature, I might be able to overcome what I experienced for 6+ hour charging. The between-charge usage, if accurate from reviews, is very appealing. One thing I had about Titan is I get 3 hours between charge, tops. I'm constantly leaving home with backups.

Honestly, I don't think using the passthrough feature is the greatest idea, personally. The idea itself is totally appealing, but I prefer not to vape, stressing a battery that is already being charged, and is heating up slightly for that reason. I think (believe) that many setups will halt charging as a vaper is vaping, but I don't know that all of them do that, and in either case you are stressing your battery by asking it to perform (often rapidly) in two ways sort of at once.

If passthrough is an absolute must have and you will use it, I would respectfully suggest that you charge using a wall-wart rather than a computer as if anything goes wrong with the charging process you will fry your wall wart (inexpensive) compared to your computer (more expensive). I would also try to keep it to a minimum.

Although again, if passthrough is a "must have" for you, I'd say the relative risk is fairly low it's only elevated in comparison to not charging via passthrough or by using a rechargeable battery which carries it's own risks. As I mentioned your relative risk is low, it remains, however, slightly elevated in comparison to not using the passthrough feature.

I am quite aware that many protections are present before you get to actually vaping your mod, but there is something I don't quite love about sort of attaching my vape to ALL the power coming to my home (I totally understand that it is throttled and many things would have to fail before danger arrived) but there's just something, to me, that really prevents me from using that practice. I'm probably being overly paranoid, but I figured I'd mention it. Etc.

Looks to me that the VV is actually shorter than the dual mode, across the size/mAh range. I just had a look to compare them on the V4L site and was astounded to see the 900 mAh is supposed to last for 12 hours of actual vape time. That hasn't been my experience even when they're brand new, but it's longer than a Titan (from memory anyway). I'm a pretty heavy vaper though (in more ways than one).

I must admit I've only used my dual mode Zeus on passthrough when all my batteries were nearing their use-by date and a couple of times in the car. I used an extension connection because the charging cords aren't that long. I didn't experience any over-heating though.

I do agree with Anna that it's probably not a good idea to use passthrough on the computer ( I recall somewhere on this forum in the dim, dark past there was talk about it not being good for one or the other).

"Stressing" these batteries is a bit of a myth. I've got 2 Zeus batteries that are going on 4 years old. I Vape them both ways plugged in or not. They've been pretty good. I only do 808 types at home any more. The closest similar with a 510 connection I've used is an Aspire CF VV+. Still on the big side though. Just not as long as Zeus. I went to box mods a few years ago for personal carry. Not as big and longer life battery.

That's good to know. Can't believe your Zeus can last 4 years though, unless you don't use them much - I get through them in about a 1.5 - 2 years.

Not like they used to, but still a few times a week. Bleeding off smileomizer stock. Pre tty much tank and box guy these days.
