i just smoke my 1st ecig since yesterday..i noticed my nicotine craving i still need..but ecig seem to replace my habitual lighting up esp when i am on FB..hopefully ecig can wean me out from regular cig..i still smoke for real..but not so many sticks now..from over 1 pkt to around 6,last 2 days..will see if ecig can at least cut out my habitual smoking..my health will depend if ecig can work for me

I am new to this too. I was at 3 packs per day, purchased 100 dollar worth of PureSmokeOnline stuff from a local store and did not do any good. The two batteries were taking longer to charge than to discharge and the cartridges were almost empty. The kit was practically worthless, it was a fight for almost two weeks trying to get something out of it, I was in continuous withdraw and often recurred to real cigarettes.
Meanwhile I discovered this forum and started learning things. I ordered an ego t kit and some juice and received it 12 days ago. Since the first moment I started using the ego I did not need any analog cigarette, up to today (12 days) I did not smoke any. I use a vg juice at 24mg cut at 33% with vg which gives me 8mg, no withdraw at all.
The first 3 or 4 days I was cutting it just at 50% to get a good start.
If you feel the withdraw at the beginning try to use a higher nicotine content for few days, it should work.
My wife tried one of my ego few times and liked it, yesterday arrived her kit and she will get onboard.
I can breathe a lot better in so short time.
Good look

Yes, just up the nicotine content. I was smoking 1/2 pack a day and when I made my first purchase I got 4mg and it was not even close to enough to make me drop the cigarettes. 24 mg works for me really well and I am going to try 18 to find my baseline.

That is great advice, Linden, and just what I've been looking for :D I ordered my first supply yesterday and went for 24 mg with plans to cut it with VG. I hope this works because I smoke Pall Mall and they are 1.1 mg per analog.

Many of us were heavy smokers who completely switched over. Some had a transition period where they cut back on analogs while others picked a day and completely quit smoking. I smoked two packs a day and completely quit on January 1st.

I'm not going to lie, the first day sucked for me. The next two days weren't a picnic either. But then something happened. The e-cigs started tasting even better and I started feeling MUCH better with my health. Accompany that with the fact that I went days without a cigarette (huge mental boost), I was well on my way.

Whatever method you use to either cut back on analogs or to fully quit, you have our full support.

Add: One of the reasons why it was really hard for me the first few days I believe was due to the fact that the nicotine level in my e-juice was way too low.

True, ,my transition time ( both smoking and vaping ) was about a week to 10 days... then I got the 24mg juice and tossed the cigarettes

Starting to lower the nic level now.. .mixing juices... today I am using about 21mg ( mostly 24mg with a little 16mg mixed into it )

in a week or two I will be down to 16 ( lowering it very very slowly so I don’t even notice, and enjoying mixing different nic levels )

I suppose it is easy because there is one flavor I like a LOT so I am just vaping that flavor

I am almost 3 weeks free. That feels good. I still have cravings but i know it's not the nicotine but the addiction speaking. There are times when I am under stress and I think a real cigarette would be better right now. I just work through it because I know it won't be. The e-cig helps me work through those moments with a lot more ease.

Keep it up and you will be tossing those Analogs soon enough.

I was absolutely shocked (and so were my family and friends) when e-cigs TOTALLY replaced my regular smokes from day one on. What's more, it was just sheer luck because I didn't order e-cigs originally with the intent or goal of quiting at all. Just to give me some "inside" smoking time as I stopped smoking inside my house 15 years ago. That didn't cause me to "cut down" my "smoking" - just learned to be better friends with things like rain, snow, hurricanes or whatever!

Truly, the most important thing I ordered (by luck I guess) along with my first " standard KIT" order was the USB to PC e-cig battery and I wouldn't have quit cold turkey if it wasn't for this device. As a 2+pack/day person, I managed to drain those "4" regular batteries I originally ordered within hours! But the USB to PC e-cig battery is like the Everyready Bunny. It doesn't lose it's charge! Just keeps plugging on full strength as long as PC is on, and that was important to keep the satisfaction level high. The extra higher strength cartomizers I ordered helped too like others suggest. But realistically, I needed both -- the constantly and fully charged USB passthrough battery and the higher strength cartomizers (and plenty of them) to get that "satisfied" feeling you're referring to - especially in the beginning.

Just a note: My USB to PC passthrough battery does NOT work in the wall charger that came in my kit. The forums have advice from experienced users on how to get them to work in ways other than just with the PC. It's a voltage thing. You'll still be teathered to a charging unit just not the PC. Good advice throughout the forums on this for beginners like us making the switch.

Two months now analog free, loving my e-cigs, and I'm OFF my $400/mo (retail price) lung drugs for COPD and I feel soooooooooo good, able to do things I haven't done in years. No wonder the drug companies hate e-cigs. Makes you kind of wonder just what their true motives really are!

Congrats on your successes so far. It doesn't matter how long it takes -- only that you, at your own pace, make the switch. IT'S SO WORTH IT!
