My understanding of the way the airflow is setup is that the adjustable airflow only controls air coming from the side port not through the base but I may not understand how the air routes. But tight on the screw does not shut it off on mine just tightened it up some. It's still twice as loose though as my iclear 30.

Yeah, I think it does still provide some airflow even when you close it down completely. I usually close it all the way, then give it one turn open. It's still a fairly loose draw, much moreso than the T3S tanks, but I'm getting used to it, and really love it after a bit over a week using it. More, please! :D

I'm also playing around these days with a Caterpillar RDA, and THAT takes some getting used to. The throat hit just about kills me, unless the e-juice has absolutely ZERO throat hit. I keep that airflow closed except for one hole, and it's still a lot airier than I'm used to, but if I close it completely, the heat REALLY kills me. Mainly I guess I'll be using it to taste new stuff; it's got a single 2.2 ohm coil in it, which was quite nice when I tried some of the French Vanilla I've had steeping for a few weeks, but the Belgian Cocoa apparently has some TH of its own, because I nearly choked when I took the first hit. Turned it down to 6.5w; I can definitely taste the Belgian more in the dripper than in any of the tanks I've tried with it, but it's still just... underwhelming. :?:

I love genesis styles with SS mesh... Just cant build them right for some reason... But for me they give the best flavor... But unfortunately since i cant build them right i must settle for stuff like aquas or russians or drippers... Thats the closest i get to the flavor of a gennie...

Such a shame since i recently got the arnold, 8ml of gennie heaven and i just cant get the SOB to work right

Eh not crazy you enjoy what you enjoy. I feel crazy throwing away clearos, even just the heads. I have an iclear 30b and I hate the way they made the heads so they're very difficult to rebuild. As far as clearos go I'm super excited to finally get a kanger protank 2. Easy to rebuild, just the way I like it lol.

Yes; the airflow comes from the side and not the base.
You should be able to shut it off completely.

With the ordinary eGo tanks with 2 holes at the sides you can close the holes off with two fingers so as to prime the coil if you want.
If you can't do that with an 'adjustable airflow system' then something is wrong with the 'adjustable airflow system'.

Well today I took a look to see what was going on and found something interesting. Note this is a clone so this might not apply to all these Kayfun clones but mine at least with it's airflow control is a little odd. I didn't think I could shut down the airflow since all the way in was not closing it off, all the way out of course was slightly looser. Today I did some messing around drawing on it while turning the screw in and found a little ways before fully in it does stop airflow, but all the way in does not. Since I had just screwed it all the way in assuming that would give me the tightest draw I didn't mess with much in the middle. So if your airflow doesn't shut down try backing the screw out a bit and see if it tightens up. Now that I know this I can set this really as tight as any other device, so complaint of sorts averted. That said I'm finding myself generally using the looser draw more often since I've had to and I'm not sure which way I prefer it at this point but something to be aware of at least.
