I've been vaping for a week now with my KR808:). I've been refilling my cartos and it seems like that's all I get done. :( I'll admit that I vape a lot but I was a chain smoker too.

I've watched the videos on how to fill a carto and I think I'm doing it right. I'm tilting it at an angle and filling it until it looks moist but doesn't pool. (Don't want a mouth full of juice) I'm not sure what else I can do. Is this something I'm just going to have to deal with?

I go through about four or five diy cartos a day, and yeah, it can be a pain in the ..... You didn't mention how many you usually go through, so I don't know if I use more or less than you. When I got my kit, I got ten blank cartos along with it and just filled them all at once. When they start to taste 'off' I drop them into my container for future cleaning and then just clean and refill all in a batch.

I hear that a good rule of thumb is about 0.9ml, if you use a syringe. Leaford has a fill method using the silicone end caps that you can find on Youtube; I can usually put about 20 drops into a clean and dry carto. At any rate, if you find the tilt and drop method tedious, see what you can dig up on Youtube, or poke around here too. :)

The first thing you did wrong is get involved with cartomizers in any way other than using them for a door stop. Dripping is the only way to go. Everyone who posts after me will agree enthusiastically.

... lol, I don't. :) It's really hard to raid and drip at the same time without loss of dps or pissing off your raidmates because you're too busy dripping to heal the tank.

Your opinions are your own. Why must you intrude them on every post asking about cartos. Certainly you are in the minority, since so many people(including myself) seem to make them funtion fine. If you don't have any advice to HELP someone using cartos, then you aren't being helpfull.

To the OP, If you don't like refilling often, you can just refill a bunch in the morning all at once. Not to much trouble when you do them all at once. Also, in the begining, I think everyone vapes heavier then they do later on. I know I have cut back. I could go through 10ml in a day easily a couple months ago. You'll get into a rythm. And if you decide cartos aren't for you, you can always get a DSE901 atty and a drip tip, drip every ten drags or so. But I think that's a PITA personally.

I've dripped (successfully) doing 75mph on the Golden State Freeway while eating a cheeseburger and changing the radio station with my toe. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

Thus endangering every one else around you. Very thoughtfull of you to make your habit more important than others well being. Please don't do that. It is about as safe as putting on make up or shaving while driving.

... Not all of us are as graceful and gifted as you? :) Regardless, to each their own. No need to be hatin' on the cartomizers, man. Everything's got a use, and everyone has a preference. Besides, who's to say that the OP may not want to experiment with dripping later? I know I've got my eye on an XShaler for dripping... and one of Missy's wetboxes... and... :)

I totally watched some women driving and putting makeup on the other day.... but traffic wasn't moving, so it didn't matter much.

I've looked in to dripping, a little bit. But I ordered a EVOlution from Intelecig-USA.com, and I'm not sure what drip tip to get... Not sure what model the e-cig is. Thought I saw 510 somewhere, but I couldn't confirm that.

Anytime Shadzi. :)

This is the method I use and it's relatively quick. Occasionally I'll get a carto that doesn't want to suck up the juice and I'll fill it until the juice starts coming out the other end, then leave it to sit for a while while I accomplish something else. If you get lucky the carto has filled itself by the time you come back.

I find that I can only refill a regular sized carto about 6-10 drops without flooding it (that's not cleaning and starting from empty, just "topping off" to keep going). I'm a heavy vaper too, and that amount might last about an hour if I'm lucky. Once the new ceramic E2 cartos get the kinks worked out that might be a solution to lasting longer. Until then, these 2 ml cartos are an option:

IKV MEGA KR-808 Cartomizer

Thanks for your comment LowThudd, the carto prejudice is getting on my nerves too. I think most of the people saying these things haven't used one in quite a while. It's really out of place in newbie advice, because 808s/cartos are the simplest way to get started. And vaping is already confusing enough as it is for new people.

I gave up on the carto prejudice a long time ago, well a long time for me anyway. After getting into an argument with one forum member because I prefer to fill and vape rather than having to go through the cut poly/mod blue foam/trim a straw/try a teabag etc. etc. I just started ignoring the whole thing. I post where I can to help and pretend the post above mine simply isn't there. :)

Lol, StormFinch! I know, right? I have no interest in playing with vaping that much. Some of us enjoy that, but a lot of us really don't. That's where analogs still have an advantage over vaping - it's easy to just light one up, anybody can do it (even kids). Vaping needs to be as close to that simple as possible or it just won't become an alternative for the vast majority of smokers.

No, no, no using the words kids and vaping in the same sentence. :)

Really though, I understand that some people take to atomizers just fine. To each their own. I prefer simple, though at times I think maybe I'd like to try dripping... but guess what? I'm an ex smoker, stubborn as the day is long. Try to push a "this is the only way to go" idea down my throat and I'll purposely walk the other way.

Anyway, now that we've made this thread into yet another atomizer/cartomizer skirmish, we might ought return it to it's originally intended topic. :D

I've tried dripping, I've cut and filled carts, but at this point for me cartomizers are the way to go. It literally takes 10 seconds to condom fill them. IMO they're the future of the industry. Cutting foam and the like feels archaic, I never bothered to roll my own cigs because it's a hassle, why would I want to continue the hassle?

OP, I don't know how many carts you go through in a day but... maybe you should invest in some blanks and just fill them all at once like some of the others on here have said. I only have five myself and find i have to clean and fill them pretty often.. but am also still smoking too... and hoping to get a new vaping system soon so buying more wouldn't make sense for me right now....If you could just fill them once daily or every other day would that be an improvement?

Thanks everyone for your help! I appreciate it. Going to try the condom method of filling I have some cartos that need cleaning I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I think I also need to purchase some more blank cartos that might help. I bought some juice and filled some cartos and turned out they tasted like feces to me so I'm going to clean them so I can fill them with something that I do like. Again thank you all for the advice.:)
