Am I experiencing vapers tongue?

So I've been at this for a bit over a year now and I don't think I've experienced vapers tongue before today.Two juices in my daily rotation, a DIY custard and a pina colada, have started to taste really weird. It's hard to describe but it kinda tastes like how scotch tape smells. I have tried both juices in a few different devices ranging from Protanks, rda's and gennies and the result is always the same, a scotch tapey, almost platic taste.
Now, this is where I get confused. I can still taste all of my other juices just fine. I thought vapers tongue would make everything taste weird? Is this really vapers tongue or are these juices ruined for me now? Has anyone experienced this?
I'm really bummed as I loved those juices and I'm starting to wonder if I will ever get to vape them again.

That's a great description of the taste that I experienced when my vaper's tongue set in.

Could be though, that your taste buds are "fatigued" when it comes to your daily juices.

If I were you I would use the other juices for a few days and give your taste buds a chance to reset.

I bet you will be able to enjoy your favorites again.

After a few days I did some research and found somebody mention that they mixed up a strong batch of absinthe flavor.
So I mixed up some TFA absinthe at 12% flavor.
It about knocked my head off with flavor.
But the next day, my case of dud buds was cured.
In all actuality, I don't think it was the absinthe as much as the water and crackers.

Honestly, I'd look into more of a possibility that the juice has melted the plastic on the inside of the storage bottle, or on the dropper, or something. I just wouldn't think that vaper's tongue would cause that bad of a taste, worst case scenario, it should probably taste like unflavored e-juice. It also could be that this particular juice got a bit thick over time and isn't wicking well anymore. Even just a tad bit of dry wick can taste super funky.

I'm having my third bout of vaper's tongue at the moment. I've found the best way to cure this ( and it's NOT good on your teeth, so use sparingly!) is get some lemon juice from the little lemon bottles, and squirt it directly on your tongue and let it rest there for a second. Then spit out, and then swish with lukewarm water. Do this two or three times in a row. Clears that riiiight up for me.

glad this isnt just me some reason ive been on a bobas kick and GJ! last week i couldnt tell the difference between the two. then i filled up with something new i had steeping and it tasted the same. it had taste but weird i have no idea. i was upset so took the night off vaping and the next morning back to normal. I have yet to try bobas or GJ. I figure i should give it a break. I think i would have a break down if that happened again this week!

Totally am experiencing vapers tongue for the first time as we speak. It's ffreaking me out. Can't taste the flavor I have been vaping on all day all of a sudden. I'm hoping to keep hydrated and find me some lemon juice or hot wings to spark up these dud buds of mine.

I've been doing something very similar to this, and it's worked wonders.

Rather than using fresh lemon (which I don't always have handy and, believe it or not, can sometimes be hard to find in Puerto Rico), I've used a product called True Lemon. True Lemon is nothing more than dehydrated and then powdered lemon. It comes in packets about the size of a packet of sugar. I just open a packet and pour the contents on my tongue. They also make True Lime, but I haven't tried it yet for this purpose.

I also read a good tip somewhere. . . when this happens, and you can't taste any of your juices, this can be a good time to use up those juices that you wish you hadn't picked up in the first place!

I had the same problem once and i repeat ONCE... Every damn flavor tasted like plastic and i couldnt smell or taste anything... Not even my morning coffee (i know, it was hell)
Then i made my own juices with an extra shot or 2 aroma and it stopped happening that badly

Another thing that's worked for me is to swish a little vinegar around in my mouth. Unless you really like vinegar, this is a pretty nasty solution--it's a little tough to tolerate. One of the things that this does is it tends to clear the sinuses as well as the taste buds (and a huge part of taste is actually smell).

I used hyxrogen peroxide the last time I had it which was the last time I had it... woke up the next morning and Bazinga...my tongue was working again!

Ugh, it really sucks! Going through it now.
Looooooove the idea of vaping your least favorite juices in the meantime!!! After just reading that, I filled up with a Kona coffee flavor I mixed weeks ago that was way too strong and I hated it every time I tasted it since. Tastes pretty dang good right about now lol!

The strange thing about vapors tongue for me is that I can still taste food, but when I vape I can't taste sweet flavours, instead I taste a plastic unpleasant flavour that I assume is normally in the juice but is masked by sweetness.

I've had vapors tongue twice and they were both caused from dry hits, which leads me to believe that vapor's tongue is caused by some sort of chemical burn on your taste buds.

Either way, I find a good nights rest usually clears up the problem. I haven't had the issue go away by trying to kick start my taste buds with extreme flavors.
