Am I Tasting Ejuice or just Condensation?

Hello everybody, I'm Tom and I'm new to the forum and to vaping. I'm currently on my first battery, the iTaste vv3, and on my second tank, the Nautilus Mini.

I started off with a Kanger ProTank 3 and it was great. Good flavor, nice clouds, and what I would describe as a "dry hit" ie: no taste on my lips after pulling and exhaling. I wanted a tank with adjustable airflow, however, so I recently bought the Nautilus when I was at the vape shop.

Well it was great for the first 6-7 hits. Stronger flavor, thicker clouds, and I liked the airflow better. But after the first few pulls I started to noticed that I was tasting the flavor on my lips and on my teeth after taking a hit. There is also a gurgling sound which the Kanger made as well so I'm assuming that is normal.

I'm concerned because I don't want to be swallowing any of the Ejuice. It doesn't have the harsh taste or burning sensation that many people have described so I'm thinking it may just be condensation but I wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this.

I did try putting in the replacement coil, priming before I hit it and cleaning everything and letting it dry but still no luck. For reference, it is a 50/50 juice and I'm using 3.8 and 8.5 voltage and wattage. I also used this same juice in the Kanger Tank without any issues.

Also separate question but I also saw on another thread that someone said to burn any excess juice out by holding the vape upside down while firing. When I do this do I pull as well or just let it fire?

Sound slike you're got a touch of the flooding going on.

When you pump out enough vapor, condensation happens in a lot of places:
1) in your mouth
2) in your drip tip
3) in the chimney of the tank

Solution 1: If you're fiing to clear the gurgle, you can fire it upside down (no pull) or
Solution 2: Fire it and give a GENTLE puff of air into the drip tip, which will feed a little vapor out of your air intake and help to keep it clear.
Solution 3: Take a twist of napkin or tissue and swab down the chimney of the tank to suck up any left over fluids.
Solution 4: Try opening up our airflow for a few hits, as this reduces the suction and therefore to a certain extent the wicking capabilities.

Gurgle -shouldn't- be that common.

I've had the same on many bottom coils. What the gurgling happens to be is if your rubber gromlet on top of the Atty is not seated correctly or your over fill and pull to hard the tank basically becomes a straw for ejuice -eeww- this can be somewhat harmful if say you swallow a large amount but that's basically unheard of. The meaning of a dry hit is the wicks become dry and you taste burnt silica or cotton depending on your wicking material. Now condensation is not a big problem as it is a product of vaporizing is general but it does taste pretty bad. My advice is try maybe a thicker eliquid or adjuting for wattage/voltage.

same thing happens to me, what worked for me was to start pulling before i fire and continue to pull for a second after i release the fire (hope that makes sense)

This is what I do and seems to work well. I use PBC TANK on top of my Silver Bullets. Once the juice gets about 1/2 way down I fill it back to the top. As it seems the lower the liquid in the tank, the better chance of it to start gurgling. For me this works wonderful. Take 30 sec to fill er up and no problems.

the "o-ring" that has been seated the wrong way is the one in the top part of the chimney, which screws down into the glass portion of the tank. But it sounds more to me like it's getting too little power, i usually run 10-12W on the nautilus bvc coils.
That sort of depends on the airflow settings and how hard you drag on it.

Thanks again everybody. So just an update to help anyone else out who may be having problems with this particular tank. The o-ring was, indeed, improperly assembled. However the problem was not solved there. The one tip that I've found that seems to have cleared up the leaking, was actually pretty simple. Apparently these bottom feeding tanks work on a pressure system and in order for this tank to work correctly, you must close off the airflow when you're filling and fastening the tank. I set the airflow ring between settings and then opened it once it was filled and fastened and haven't had any gurgling or juice in the mouth. Hope this helps anyone else having an issue. Merry Christmas

glad you got your issue fixed. Just thought I'd mention that a "dry hit" is when you take a hit, and it hits you in the back of the throat like a ton of bricks. Coughing and watery eyes usually follow. it's a bad experience. It's when the juice hasn't wicked properly. Like I said, not a big deal, but it could cause some misunderstanding in the future.
