Im nearly nine months in and I still vape a whole lot more then I ever smoked! When Im at home its in my hand constantly! You have to remember also that it takes nicotine longer to be absorbed with vaper then it does with smoke. You don't get that instant satisfaction (you also don't get all those extra chemicals either!)

I started out at 18 but found I was oding on the nic so I stepped down to 12 and felt better. After about a month your cravings will largely decrease if you are like me.

I even have 0 nic that I use at night so I can wind down to sleep...still no cravings then either.

Cutting down to super low or 0 nic is the way to go if you like sleep. I'm found myself tossing and turning quite a few nights until I started stepping down the nic. Good advice for a new vaper for sure.

I think everybody chain vapes during the transition. I started on 18 nic and I was wired up pretty bad the first couple days. Trouble sleeping and kinda loopy. Adjusted quick and dropped to 12 during the day and 6 at night. I don't chain vape anymore. Just a good 15 min session once and hour or 2...with the occasional flavor puff in between of course...

I think the best advice is to just listen to your body. It will tell you when you hit the right stride. It takes some time to adjust regardless. It's a big time lifestyle and chemical change with your body. I think I underestimated it going in.

The trouble sleeping thing seems pretty universal - it took me about a week to get regular sleep - noticeably different if I cut myself off around two hours before bed...

Silly point maybe, but we have GREAT water here in Lakewood, CO! I love it! Great taste. I know it may sound foolish, since few people talk about the taste of their water. I drink a lot. All day. I even fill gallon jugs to take on the truck so I can have good water on the road. Hydrating is very important, just like everyone has said. I also find I have less thirst than with analogs so I have to remember to drink sometimes. Remember folks, coffee, tea and sodas do not really replace the water you should drink. They have stuff like caffeine in them that actually dehydrate your body.

The sleep thing is still a bit of a problem for me. I have tried using 0 nic in the evenings but I feel "unsatisfied" with the one I have. No throat hit at all. So I mix the 0mg nic with a 12 and that seems to work. I am going to order 6mg for evenings. Oh darn! Now I will have to shop for more juice!!! What a trial. NOT!:lol:

BTW, I love my unsweetened iced tea as well. I usually have a glass of tea off and on all day as well.

Ok, the vaping problem has been discussed and good advice has been dispensed, now to the original problem of to much vamping! Do you think you're a vampire? Or is this just a problem at parties and social gatherings? Is it interfering with work?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Welcome to the forum, great people here can help you with any vaping problems, and congrats on the switch!

I have been off smokes for a little over a month and still havent figured out the whole hydration thing....I seem to only drink when Im thirsty.

I'm the exact same way. I read about how important it was to stay hydrated, but I only drink when I'm thirsty or my mouth gets super dry. So far haven't experienced any ill side effects! I just think everyone's a little different.

I started vaping the end of May. I am not allowed to vape while working my job, so during my two 15 minute breaks and my 1/2 hour lunch I get in some serious vaping. But when off the clock, I tend to chain vape. It satisfies my urge to smoke, I have been smoke free since I started vaping. I have read on many forums that there is nothing wrong with chain vaping, but as has already been mentioned your body will give you signs that it is too much--headaches, nausea, etc. Otherwise, vape on! As for smoking an analog while vaping, just remember that smoking is a serious addiction, not easy for so many people to just stop. Everybody is different, don't beat yourself up for having a smoke. If your reason for vaping is to get off the analogs, it will happen if that is truly what you want. Good luck :)

Hello and welcome. I've only been vaping for a little over 3 weeks, but I'm still pretty much chain vaping. I don't really want a cigarette now, but it took me over 2 weeks to get there. I did smoke a pack-and-a-half a day for 42 years and I feel so much better now! Maybe you should up your nicotine level like others have suggested. Good luck!

I found in the beginning that 12-18mg didn't satisfy my needs. Also I was vaping on a standard starter kit. Switching to a Provari with 24mg juice solved that for me. Also don't be afraid to spend a little extra for a better mod. It really does make the process of quitting normal cigs much much easier. And you can't really put a value on that...

Best of luck :)

I started vaping yesterday for the first time. I have been chain vaping because I don't think I am getting a satisfying level of nicotine. There have been moments I have broken down and had a cigarette. But no more than one a day.

Anyone else experience this? Should I have bought a higher level of nicotine?

First, don't pressure yourself too much, you just got started!

Not everybody stops smoking their first day. Some do and that's great. Others take longer. I kept smoking--though at a much, much reduced level--for about six weeks? It dropped dramatically the first week then "drifted down" over time after that. Long as the direction was away from smoking, I was happy.

I think there's an adjustment period in there. Some "hit" the right combination of things their first time out and walk away from smoking. Others, we take more time to find the right devices and nic levels and PG and VG and flavors and... and... and...

I say long as you're smoking less, be happy and vape on. Next week, you can smoke even less. Maybe none at all. Focus more on finding the right vape for you, personally, and one day you'll think, "what the heck did I ever see in smoking anyway?" :)

And I, myself, don't think "chain vaping" is any big deal. Seems to me, everybody does it at the beginning.

As I understand it, what's going on is as smokers, we had a level of nicotine in our system that was our "normal" (whatever level that was). When you switch the "delivery system", you may or may not be able to hit that same level at first. As you get settled in to vaping, you develop habits to hit the level your body has become used to (and craves) and you'll settle in to a pattern of vaping that fits you.

But at first, I think, we all struggle to match the nic level we were used to and it's a "hit or miss" kind of thing at first.

Don't worry about it. Experiment with different variations of liquids to find what suits you. Try a slightly higher nic level maybe. A different mix of PG and VG. Sample flavors. Don't buy big batches of anything at first. Get little bottles and try different things. Find a vape shop that lets you "sample" before you buy. Things like that.

I say focus on enjoying the vape. The smoking will begin to seem harsh and awful tasting in comparison and you'll drift away from it...

I'm also worried I will need to steep them for a week (Mt. Baker).

Psst! Don't tell the other kids, they'll make fun of me, but I don't bother with steeping. I shake the bottles like I'm having a seizure maybe but I vape my Mt. Baker stuff as early as the day it arrives.

;)

Suppose it isn't all bad. I still keep vaping and have not had more than 3 stinkies a day.

Yeah, compare that to how much you smoked only a few days ago. I bet the difference is huge huh?

As I recall, vamping involved slinky dresses and sultry flirting with men.

This may or may not be confusing depending on the gender and/or orientation of the OP.

Also, what bar we're talking about...

HUGE difference! I will just shake the hell out of the bottles. I just need one that will work for me right now.
