Ambitious Beginner with a growing interest

Hey everyone,

Happy to finally be on an e cig forum! Seems like a lot of good information going around here as well as some slight misinformation as is on par for the internet.

I started vaping about 4 months ago and its been great. I started my tobacco endeavors with hookah so it was an easy transition for me. I'm currently running an Ego VV with usb pass through and a vivi Nova tank.

I am however building my own mechanical mod and a usb passthrough built into a hookah hose.

I have some questions on the pass through that I would like to post elsewhere but I need to get my post count up so I'll go ahead and post them here.


I will be using a 5v 2amp usb/wall adapter, 10 foot USB cable, a 510 connector with an LED and push button installed in the handle. does this seem like a good parts list?

That seems like a complete list to me. Will you be using a dedicated USB pass through or an Ego battery passthrough? Either way post up some pics when you're done, don't think I've ever seen a hookah mod wired strait into the wall lol.

I'd like to make it a dedicated USB pt for the simplicity of it. From what I've read as long as I short the two data wires with a 200 ohm resistor I won't have to deal with some of the current fluctuations if I decide to run it off a computer.

Ill definitely post up pics here and the modding forum when I get posting privileges there. Ill probably be starting the hookah mod in the coming week

Hookah hose pass thru is complete all though not quite as solid as I wanted it to be. I used a 5V 1A usb/wall adapter and it works, but could be better. Hoping a 2 A adapter will do the trick. Multimeter reads 5.08 V consistently at the atty connector. Ill be building a few more to sell to friends and make a solid one for myself and keep updating
