I've been vaping a while and thought I'd step up into the APV world. I started with an eGo mod and Twists.

The ECF speaks highly of the Provari. And when I am about to spend over $150 for my next APV, I want to be sure it's right.

American made is a HUGE selling point for me, but it has to be as durable as I am. Are there others that are American made? vape sites I have searched don't usually say where there products are made so I naturally assume they are all from China.

REO's mods - Notcigs mods - Super-t mods - ... ... ... actually, US made mods are too numerous to list. We need to narrow it down. Are you looking for an 18650 tube mod like the silver bullet or rough stack (both made in the USA) - Something a little different like the Saber Touch? - A bottom feeder? - a top feeder? - a box mod?.... Variable Voltage in any form factor? 5.0v regulated? Unregulated? I could make some assumptions based on your mention of the Provari, but I think you'll get some very accurate responses if you can describe what you're hoping to find.

Like Six said, what particular style are you looking at?

I'm not sure why nobody brings up Puresmoker, but I used a Prodigy V3 for 2 years without issue. Very very durable and solid mechanical mod. I currently use my ProVari but the new Legacy from Puresmoker is super classy, uses 18650's and can take a "Kick"(variable wattage) for power control. I miss my V3 so much that I am getting a Legacy mini as a back-up.

Whatever you decide, I don't think you would ever regret the Provari. I am not a uber-fanboy or anything, just sayin, I was on a nice American made mod(Puresmoker) for 2+ years and then went to the Provari and have since been completely overwhelmed at just how nice this thing is built and performs.

Good luck!!

Thank you for the comments. The point of this post is that I am not EXACTLY sure what I am looking for. I use eGo T's and Twists because I like the size and usually carry 3 in my shirt pocket. Based on my satisfaction with their performance, I bought an eGo MOD (my coffee table vape), however, I don't get the charge time I was expecting at all with it. The Twists have shown me a whole new world with my liquids. And I am sure that I have much much more to learn, PLUS, like many of you, I am rather addicted to the gadgets (attys, cartos, etc.). I even vape with a calculator at home to experiment with different ohm/volt ratios. This forum has taught me TONS!

To be frank, box mods don't interest me because they remind me of things "illicit smokers" use. Provari gets rave reviews on here. I want the best, but I know that "the best" is subjective. evilferret mentioned wooden mods. I have seen a few and they are right up my alley. I still have more research to do. It's good to know that there are many American MODS out there. Again, thank you.

My Switchback mod from vapor beast came in the mail today and I love it! It is definitely a good first mod and for only $49 with free shipping you can't beat it. It is certainly worth checking out.

Those look COOL! I will check into them some more for sure! Thanks.

Is this made in the USA? I always thought the switchback was a mass produced Chinese pv?

My suggestion is a Supertmanufacturing preciseplus with a imr high drain battery. No variable voltage unless you add a kick but it has rhodium plated contacts that need next to no maintenance and the consistency of the hit is unreal for a mechanical pv. Stainless Steel and a Lifetime warranty as well.

Not all box mods are created equal...bottom fed, dual 18650, 10 amp limit and variable voltage...oh yeah...made in the USA! ;)

There are loads of great mods made in the USA. I have a few.

As you are taking to VV -- just get a Provari. You will love having the ability to change voltage, check atty ohms and check battery voltage in the display. Shortage protection is a real nice feature too. Then get on the notify list for a Darwin.....for even more fun. Vari Watts is super and the Darwin Display rocks. Both of these great Devices are US made.

I have had over 6 provaris I buy other mods but after a week go back to provari not because of any other reason but the fact it is a solid device and I never have issues with them

Sorry I know this is off topic but, if provaris are the class of the field why does one person need six? Not trying to call you out but i'm looking to upgrade from an ego twist and trying to understand the provape price tag.

LOL If you take notice around the forum, you will notice several "mod hoarders". They just love to have them all, and some like to have multiples of everything. This is the case with every high end mod, not just the Provari. Personally I have been rocking the same Provari for a year and a half and it's still vaping the same as the day I took it out of the box, and showing no signs of slowing down.
