Went from "big boned" to "thyroid problems" to, etc... all equal to "not responsible"
Of course, being the victim of a childhood sneakiness that has resulted in a re-wired brain means one's totally irresponsible, weak, heartless, nibbles on pickled puppies paws by not just "laying them down!"
Think we'll ever see Big Mac boxes with 350lb backsides in a thong smeared across the top? "Enjoy your lunch!"

Methinks this is cherry-picked data to further denormalize those members of society whose behavior is seen as 'socially undesirable'
If someone doesn't respect someone because of something as trivial as smoking then their respect is probably not worth having anyway.
