The 18490 AW is a 15c battery -- 16.5a continuous!

Wait... so their 18490s have a higher current rating than the standard 2000mAh 18650s? Those are 10amp cont. rated, I thought the 490s were 8, and the 350s were 6. I know there is the 1600mAh 18650 beast AW with a higher current rating, but I'm really surprised to hear the 18490s are rated so much higher than their 18650s (not doubting, just looking for more clarification) Do you know if there are two versions of the 490 like there are two versions of the 650s?

Yes, the 18490 has a higher max discharge rate than the 2000mAh 18650 (slightly different chemistry). The 18650 2000mAh is a 5C battery vs the 15C 18490. The 1600mAh is also a 15C battery for a max discharge rate of 24A. The 18490 is just the little brother to the 1600mAh 18650. Only 1 version of the 18490 from AW.
