Are you talking about an eGo style Twist??? If so, I doubt it has much above a 5 amp limit.
yes, its an ego style twist. heres the link. if it were 5 amps id be elated. but im guessing it would be no greater than the joye twist, which is about 2.5 or 3. cant recall.

Kind of hard to say considering there are about a dozen manufacturers that make 'twists'.
Somewhere between 2a - 3a.
There is a post on here where someone reported that a joytech engineer told someone who told someone else that he said 3 amp.
I know of the few Ive tested only one would maintain a 2.18 amp output for a button press to cutoff, a few would give a momentary spike up to 2.43a.
thanks for the info. much appreciated. did you test joye twists exclusively, or perhaps any other brands? i had thought joye twists were around 3A.
yes, i agree that its difficult to pinpoint the mfgr, thus making it hard to figure out the max amps on particular
devices.
pop it open and check whats written on the cell(s?) only way to know for sure. The various ego cells i've seen always sport a 1.5C LiCo though so its most likely 2A recommended specification, they aren't actually limited though so feel free to strap a subohm coil on it and blow your hand off

i think i'll refrain from blowing myself up lol. i do appreciate the tip about the battery details written on the batt. i returned one of the twists i got and should have checked it before i sent it back. oh well. i wouldnt have wanted to void my warranty anyway i guess. good to know the battery inside will likely be stamped though. i had assumed up until now that they would be blank
batteries in there.
oh, and the joye and other named twists ive bough have all given me protection when the atomizer is too low resistance to fire. its less that i was trying to push the limits, and more of forgetting what res the atty is in relation to my voltage choice.

thanks everyone!

all your help is much appreciated. i guess i could have just gone with my instinct and assume the FT twist is slightly lower amperage than a joye. i'll go with 2A. but it was worth seeing what you all had to say. party on Wayne.
