I cannot imagine any reason why SLB would include this in the designe of the 905 .

I think you must be confusing the 905 with the 901 .

The 901 has a cleaning cycle it kicks in after x amount of draws.

It is triggered by the battery and not the atomiser.

The battery starts repeatedly flashing and heats the atomiser to red hot.

The idea is that it cleans the atomiser and burns off any residue.

In reality it is a pain in the neck as if you are rotating your batteries as you have to the poor atomiser can end up being hit by selfclean when it does not need it.

Atomiser and cart end up tasting pretty yuck after this clean.

Most people just unscrew the battery and wait for it to stop.

The automatic cleaning cycle eloquently described by Keef, does has a very good purpose. It helps to burn off deposits that form on the atomizer heating coil. It may have some benefit to atomizer longevity as this cycle is programmed in many automatic battery e-cig models. Whether the SLB905 has such a cleaning cycle, I do not know for sure.

IT Does and that is what I am assuming is why... I knew I should have added that note in my review... I guess goes to show you don't take anything for granted :p
