This is not news, but this seemed a good place to put this. A Facebook friend posted a link to this delightful little ebook that illustrates logical fallacies. Love it. I need to look and see if I can find a hard copy of it. If you skim through it you will see many of the arguments used against ecigs (and some arguments we use against them, if I'm being completely honest).

Hmmm... On page 18, Appeal to Irrelevant Authority, is described.

It occurs to me that the media calling on the tobacco control expert, Prof. Stanton Glantz is an appeal to an irrelevant authority when the topic is e-cigarettes. He likes to believe he is an expert on them, but his knowledge is underwhelming. All he really knows is that he doesn't like them.

The picture looks a lot like him, too, although it could use more facial hair.

Priceless find, Spazmelda! Good and easy (and entertaining!) reading for anyone who debates about anything... I learned alot just from scanning it one time and the caffeine hasn't even kicked in yet today! (The hardcover will be out in November, according to the site. I signed up to be notified when it's released.)
