Hey! My name's Ben, and I'm quite impressed by this community, it's one I'm looking quite forward to being a part of~

I'm 19 and had been smoking for all of... like... three months before moving to vaping. (really impressive feat, right?) But I'm proud I did make the move. My mother, who had been a heavy smoker for over 20 years is the reason I got into vaping. I tried vaping... but it was one of those crappy "gas station brands" and I thought it was stupid. My mom got my some V4L batteries and some e-liquid and I'm glad she cared enough to. We're both much better off now (especially her, probably something to do with 20 years being more than 3 months or some other technicality). I'm really big into the tech scene, the verge of technology, linux, Windows 8 is old news to me, my PC runs Mac OS X and I'm really into custom roms for android devices and jailbreaking iOS, PC mods. geeky nerdy stuffs. So I'm really thinking before long I'll be into modding and the nitty gritty details. So, please welcome my young weirdness and enthusiasm, I'm excited, again, to be a part of this community.

Cheers~

Hi I am also new to the forum. I started vaping a short time ago. I have been regularly smoking for 20 years. I I say regularly as that is when it became a habit and when the addiction kicked in. Before that for probably 10 years, I would smoke now and again, just a social smoker when out with friends at a party or a bar. It became a more regular habit and addiction about 20 years ago.

What I am doing now is vaping plus I also use a Nicotine inhaler. I alternate as I can use the inhaler in places instead of vaping as some places do not allow vaping. I heard airlines do not allow vaping and neither do most hospitals so I need other NRT for those times. IN those situations , an inhaler works for me as the gum is bad for my dental work, the lozenges made me sick to my stomach and the patch made me nervous and I have skin problems. All that ever helped me with this addiction is vaping followed up by the inhaler. The inhaler also gives that throat hit as you do not really inhale, just short puffs and keep it in the mouth. I love vaping as it more like regular smoking and in combo with other nicotine replacement really helps me. I just have to be very very careful not to use too much nicotine and take it easy. But it helps me not to smoke.

I am so happy about ecigs, they are amazing. They are truly a godsend for me as the inhaler alone was not doing it for me.
