cigalikes are not a recipe for sucess sadly. Atleast for most people.

Yeah, that seems to be the case but I'm going to try their PCC kit to see. Honestly, I think something superficially similar enough to smoking will do for me atm. No sweet flavours or bigger vapor or anything. Instead of stepping down my nic/vaping, I might try and step down my equipment. Something in my hand, that I can draw on and get a hit is often enough for me. I mindlessly chain vape and on better set ups this is actually a problem for me. Plenty of mornings I'm waking with a sore chest, which I'm not happy with.

But i still recommend a better setup which i guess you already have? Or did you quit for 7 months with a cigalike?

Mech mods and vamo boxes and 306s and microcoils and now Nautilus Minis, but often an ego and a decent cartotank keeps me happy.

Oh well just don't give up entirely on vaping. :)

Just primed a cart (cigalike died after about 4 hours ) and going to put all this down to a bad day/eye opening lapse. Going to start the process of winding down and see what works without doing something stupid. Cheers

I did snatch one of a friend and i didn't like it at all. So i was convinced that i would never relapse. Then one day at a party, my batteries died on me. :(
So i was fooling myself: "Well i'll buy a pack of smokes just for tonight and continue vaping tomorrow."
Well i shouldn't i was stuck for 2 weeks until i finally got back to vaping again. And even then i had the morning cigarettes every once in awhile. But now i've been free again for a long time. :)

Anyway even for the dual users It's great to vape, each cigarette less is one more step into the right direction. :)
So instead of someone having 20 ciggs a day, It's great if he/she only have 5-10 a day + vaping.

My tip for everyone is not to fool themself "I can smoke just for tonight." When you're at a party It's a high risk that you'll be back on the cigarettes faster than you know it.

Amen to that.

When I first started vaping I didn't have any trouble staying away from analogs until I had a reaction. I am still not sure if it was a reaction to 50% pg, too high nic level (was vaping 24mg then, I now do 12mg) or a bad batch of ejuice, but I had to stop in order to get rid of the reaction, and once I slipped back to analogs it was difficult to go back even though I had LOVED vaping. It was hard to get past the memory of the reaction. Finally I was able to go back after thinking about it often, and I slowly got back. Haven't had a reaction since, and haven't had a desire for analogs.

Slipping back, like others have said, can be a slippery slope. It can be hard to get back, so don't let temptation pull you toward that "just one or two" if you can help it.

Do any of you guys ever occasionally relapse onto the analogs? I myself don't anymore but when I first switched I would occasionally bum a cig from a friend or the sort. What about you guys? How long before you stopped cheating now an then? For me it was after like 3 months or so I was totally rid of them

When you say Relapse, if you Mean buy a pack and then Smoke the Entire Pack in a Day? No... I Didn't.

But I did have a Couple the First Week after I Quit. And a Few the Week after than. And then Maybe a Few the Month After that.

I Didn't really Quit Smoking "Cold Turkey". More of a Fast Ramp Down of Cigarettes combined with a Fast Ramp Up on e-Cigarettes.

I am blessed to have an expert at quitting as a husband. He is still an analog smoker but he is a non-practicing alcoholic of almost ten years. He relapsed 11 times during his first year. Back in April I woke up, got my coffee, lit a cigarette and damn! the light bulb lit up. I just didn't want to smoke anymore. It wasn't fun, wasn't even enjoyable, but, I was addicted. Talked to him, my personal expert at quitting. He said "find a group", I did, this one. :) He said, "learn and pay attention". I try. He said, "when you're ready, do it, just quit." I did. He then went and got his token box. It's full. 1 week, 1 year...up to recent times. At the very bottom of the box was an envelope, in it were 10 1 day tokens. "these are from when I relapsed. The trick is to vow to do better, learn more, start over". Then he pulled out his wallet, and removed one last 1 day chip. "This is from the last time I relapsed, way back when. I keep it to remind myself that each day I can either succeed or fail. Find a way to remind yourself of that, this little chip in my wallet works for me." I had seen them separately, but never realized he still had them all.

My way? I changed some passwords. Not important ones like the bank, but others where security is not as important. I password protected my computers, something I had never done as it's just the two of us. Now, whenever use my tablet, laptop or desktop, I have to enter idontsmoke to get in. So far, I have not relapsed because I don't smoke. :)

I've only been tobacco free for two weeks. Haven't smoked a cigarette since my starter kit came in the mail on 7/21. I kept an almost full pack of reds on hand "just in case". I threw them away last Thursday.

My wife reinforces, every single day, how proud of me she is for putting up the smokes. I don't want to disappoint her and, even more, I don't want to disappoint myself. I'm not saying a relapse won't happen, but I'm dang sure going to do my best to avoid it. It also helps that I very much enjoy vaping - perhaps even more than I enjoyed smoking... and I can do it in the house, which is a pretty big deal for me.

On a semi-related note, I had a dream the other night that I smoked two cigarettes. When I woke up, before realizing fully that is was a dream, I was very disappointed in myself and felt ashamed. It was a huge relief when I realized it had been a dream. It was pretty strange.

I know when I was using the DSE901 Mini it was so temperamental that I often had a pack of cigarettes nearby when I got frustrated with it. After a few weeks of trial and error to get all the bugs worked out I was riding that learning curve that comes with any vaping device and I haven't looked back since. That was about 4 years ago. :)

Edit: Thank god I learned there were much better devices than the Mini lol.

Strangely, back in 2009, with the 901, with all the pitfalls and everything I didn't get cigarette cravings. Maybe that early liquid had something the new ones don't have. I used to carry a cigarrette and a lighter in my vape case and never used it in the 3 months I vaped the 901. Eventually the cigarrete broke and fell apart, and I continued vaping.

Today it's not a day I go by without the need of a real smoke, but I can't, not if I want to avoid a second heart attack.
