Heya!

Over the summer I had surgery to remove a cyst on my leg. I have been told by doctors that such cysts are not helped by smoking (is anything?!). I was also told by the surgeon that smoking wouldn't help the wound to heal...

So....with that in mind, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with cysts and e-cigs; and wound healing and surgery?

Thank you muchly!

Smoke contains carbon monoxide which binds to your hemoglobin (blood cells that carry oxygen) much more readily than oxygen. So inhaling smoke causes less oxygen to be circulating in your blood. Good oxygen perfusion of your bodily tissues (such as skin) promotes faster wound healing. Smoking causes your veins and arteries to constrict, which also decreases the amount of oxygen available to your tissues. Nicotine and other substances such as caffeine also cause vasoconstriction. But vaping isn't nearly as band because there is no carbon monoxide stealing the oxygen from your cells.

I have never heard that smoking causes cysts. It could be true to an extent due to the circulation issues mentioned above.
