I use the term "collection" loosely. I'm much more of a minimalist when it comes to my pv's. I never wanted to be the guy with 20 or 30 mods, I only want to have 2 or 3, but the compromise is that those few would be at the top of their class. Months ago I started my quest for perfection by pre-ordering the new Precise ELA from Super-T, and last night I was able to get something I had been looking at for just as long, a Reo Grande. I much prefer mechanical mods to regulated, so i don't think a Provari is necessary for me. I have plans on a major refinish for my Vamo, but no matter how great it ends up looking, it'll probably never be more than an ohm checker once the other 2 arrive.

So what are your thoughts on your dream collection? Large, small? Would you sacrifice function for looks? Luckily I think I got the better end of both, but my compromise was quality over quantity. (I'm surprised the wife didn't even blink when I ordered the Reo, but I can't afford to keep shopping like i have, so it's probably a good thing I've almost reached"mod Nirvana", lol)

I don't know that I'll ever stop collecting. Prior to vaping, I was a cigar and pipe smoker. My collection of pipes and cigars has been replaced by my collection of mods and RBAs. I have, I dunno, 18 mods, I guess. Some are vv, some vw, some are mechanicals, both high and low end. I never know from one day to the next what I'll choose to vape. I may feel like the Poldiac mechanical. I may feel like the vamo. I don't really have a favorite set up, nor a favorite juice. I enjoy the variety.

i am coming up on my one year (aug 2) and i have only had cheapo's so far, as i have had to find out what devices i like best. i definately believe that mech's with rba's are my favorite. i will be hunting for an ihybird pure for my one year. by the end of the year i haope to have the pure, a reo grand, a high end mech with a nice rba, and a dna 20 device. But who knows what kind of goodies will be on the horizon by years end.

Cjax I'm in a similar boat - I don't want to have nor do I usually have (well I recently did a bit of spring cleaning) more then 3-4 mods at a time. I keep 1-2 Mechs on hand and my Provari's which, antithetically to your statement, do most of my work. But, what can I say I'm more of a regulated vaper than a mechanical. I generally use the mechs when they look really pretty with something...

I had an identical plan - 1 tube mod and 1 box mod to rule my world. Although the more I look at the Reo the less I see $150 worth of materials and workmanship.

Waiting for Super-T bottom-feeding box mod…

Yeah, I had a hard time getting sold on that price myself. In the end it was only my impatience that got the best of me. All I have right now is the Vamo, so I needed something and was tired of waiting on the ELA, but you know all about that as well. I had a want add for a used one for a few days and saw several in the classes go for much better prices than I paid new for, and i missed out on all the Blem Grandes they had on the site last week or 2 ago, so I just figured, what the heck, it's Father's Day! This way I'll get the 1 year warranty if I need it, and also the color I wanted. Like all vape gear (especially mech's) you hope the purchase will last a lifetime and eventually pay for itself, so to speak.

I have three right now... Paps 2.1, Poldiac CW, and Nemesis... I might get one or two more but I don't see myself having 20. I've been alternating between the three and everytime one doesn't get used for more than 2-3 days I start wondering why I'm not selling it... I do want more delivery systems though, got my eyes on a kayfun and I'm on a list for a crystal right now.

I am with Rule62. I spent a good amount of time as a pipe smoker as well and have a decent collection, pv's just fall into the same collecting/hoarding trait that I have. My favorite go to is the k100 with a igo-l, and I just put in an order for the last color that I didn't have. That takes me up to 6 mech's, and I want to add a couple more vv/vw mods to the collection and by the time I do something else awesome will be out that I must have.

Ok, I started out with KGO 1100mAh batteries and Vision V3s and I learned quickly that I didn't like them. I moved on to carto tanks and now I've begun my collection... Black Chrome Vamo, Zenesis 2 (from Vape Stock), 1300mAh Vision Spinner, Cartomator Tank, Smoktech UDCT tank, iClear 30. Next is my first JonBoy Lava tank that I'm waiting patiently to be announced and I really want to get a DNA 20 device so I have my sights set on a Man Cave Mod it a couple months. I'll probably pick up an IBtanked tank somewhere between now and then too. I'm pretty sure that I'll be one of those guys with a pile of mods and tanks. Give me some time and I'll be up there with 20 mods!!:vapor:

Looking is not the same as using.
a metal reo will last forever, and then you can buy a rebuild kit.
Best customer service on the planet.
They are popular for a reason, and sell out quickly if in the classies, so i think you may be very wrong about the workmanship. ;) When and if you ever own one you will understand. I had 15 diffrerent mods before I settled into the REO stuff, now that's all i want.
You should try one, if you don't like they sell very well in the classies

The only thing that gets me is the material. Aluminum.. I know exactly what will happen to it if it gets dropped...

That being said, the mini 2.1 that I want is in stock; and if I had an extra ~ 100 more in my 'vape account' it would have already been bout.

But the flip side is if they were machined from say 304 stainless for ~ 200 I would have found the cash.

Thinken would be amazing paired with an BF-RDA for a driver.

Hi Cjax. I also like to keep it simple. I started with a KGO , then 2 Saber touchs. I like having 2 PVs. Each with its own Odysseus and 2 flavours to use throughout the day. I finally got my ELA and I love it. I told myself that when ELA came in Id sell one of the Sabers but ended up giving it to a family member. I still have my first Black Ice Saber and I have the Satin ELA coming soon.

I think thats all I really need. There are many other amazing mods but I really dont think I need or have the money to collect as a hobby. I like the versatility of the ELA and its rugged machining and weight. I love how I can change its looks with a change of an accent ring or battery size.

I think it goes well with the Odysseus in build quality and performance and versatility. I can change the looks of the Odys with the choice of tank sizes and with the Ithaka mouthpiece for drip tips I can change the looks to suit my mood.

The only thing that I do "collect" are drip tips. Not as costly as collecting PVs and atomizers but those suckers can add up in cost. The most Ive spent on a tip was a brass and stainless combo by Drip Tip Dezigns. Its waiting for my brass accents for ELA to come in.

I like Mechanical devices but use a kick because I dont like battery performance drop off. I also prefer a clean and simple design and thats why I dont like VV or VW PVs, dont care for LED panels and the buttons etc. I keep my KICK at 8 watts and never adjust.

I hear you, but what i will say, not yet having held mine yet, though, is that these aren't your typical aluminum mods. They are milled out of one solid block, and are pretty thick. The only "flimsy" part on them to worry about would be the door track. I say that because after stalking them in the classies, that's the only part i've ever seen get any damage. That being said, it's the anodized paint part that bugged me. After a few years of heavy abuse my ELA I have coming will look exactly the same as it will when it arrives, the Reo on the other had will have all the scars to show just how it's been treated. But then again, i do consider it to be the king of bf's just as the ELA I consider to be the king of tubes (or should i say queen considering?), so I'm sure I made the right choice getting it new.

Wuz up, avid! If it's the brass/stainless one I'm thinking of, that may be the classiest tip i've ever seen! I love their tips, but they ain't cheap! Maybe when i stop buying mods I'll spring for one of those. Good news is, after this latest purchase, I'm done till the extras for the ELA start rolling out!
